According to a cursory look on Wiki, my birthday was the death day of Robert McNamara, Tom Weir, Louis Armstrong and Nye Bevan. And lots of obscure people. If you go back way over a century, you find Guy de Maupassant (who wrote about deadpools) and Thomas More (who was on Henry VIII's personal deadpool).

Nye Bevan, apparently.

Dies on the same day every 2 years without fail.

Looks like I can add Larry Harvey to the small list of significant individuals who died on my birthday...

Nabi Tajima and Verne Troyer both died on my birthday this year. And as I had Tajima in the Hare's, that's the second year in a row I got a birthday hit in any deadpool.

No one of particular note until very recently. I mean you got:

James Smithson (1829)

Ranjit Singh (1839) founder of Sikh Empire

Joseph & Hyrum Smith (1844) founder of Latter Day Saints (Mormons)

Then nuthin (all due respect to a bunch of non-Americans I never heard the fuck of, you Brits get the great Frank Smyth (1949) Lottie Dod (1960) A.J. Ayer (1989) (pfft whoever)

....until the 2000s when I got a nice little run going...

Jack Lemmon (2001)

John Entwistle (2002)

Gen George Patton IV (2004)

Then it dries up.

Bobby Womack was kind enough to try to get things going again last year (2014).

Sir Creep

[Edit]

Chris Squire - 2015 :-(

Well having skipped the past couple years, looks like I bag me a Mr. Joe Jackson--father of the Jackson 5--in 2018.

Happy Birthday btw S.C. I hope the thread title / discussion won't apply to you.

Isn't that a nice cheery birthday wish? Thank me later.

I guess I've never posted in this thread so I'll give a list of people who've died on my birthday (February 12th)

Al Jarreau (2017)

Charles M Schulz (2000)

Screaming Jay Hawkins (2000)

David Kelly (Irish actor, first thing I saw him in was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) (2012)

Marty Allen (2018)

I count Richard Lugar as a pretty notable death on my birthday. Not up in the Mussolini tier, but since my birthday in general has few notable deaths Lugar is definitely up there on that list imo

The real question is, who is up in the Mussolini tier? In any aspect?

A horrendous cynic, wrongly I'm sure, would think that this post may have a thinly veiled premise of drawing people's attention to the fact it's your birthday. I am, I'm sorry to report, a horrendous cynic. It's an inherent trait that comes part and parcel with being a world-weary Brit. But I'm also a fucking nice bloke.

Happy Birthday Roey! :champagne:

Birthday deaths certainly beat deathday births.

Most Famous deaths on my birthday are Alfred Hitchcock (albet before I was born) and Bob Hoskins.

The one two of Michael Robinson and Jill Gascoine probably make my birthday the most eventful in deaths as it has been in a long while.
Also turns out that John Singleton did die on my birthday rather than the 29th when it was announced, so he’s probably the biggest death on my birthday since Mussolini.
