Angel Martín Taboas, seems like a minor name, when was the last time we heard of him?

The article confirming his centenarian status in his Wiki article is a 2021 interview from the Wharton School. He's described in it as their oldest living alumnus, which is a reasonable claim to fame, so I'd expect them to still have tabs on him.

Some old lady who danced with Obama has died aged 217 or something. I should link, right? Her name was Virginia because she lived in Virginia, I think. Near DC anyway. Maybe Maryland. You know, I really don’t care.

She WAS 113 when she died yesterday. She was 106 (NOT 105) (a month before she was 107) when she danced with Obama. Surely you should have fixed an earlier statement by someone else  that "she was 217 or something"?

No, I fixed that she was an age-faker born in 1917 claiming to have been born in 1909.

Basilio Gonzalez died in July according to 110club and facebook posts. His 107th or 109th birthday was widely reported in Paraguay but his death a month later wasn't. Must be under 8 Chaco War veterans living at this point.

Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Helaissi  wasn't on my radar - I wonder if he's still alive. Oldest Saudi Arabian personality I'm aware of is someone born in 1929. There are some sources (shady links I'd rather not open) that say someone with a similar name, also a former Saudi ambassador to the UK, died in 2012 at 90. Al-Helaissi has a German wiki but seemingly doesn't have an Arabic one

Interesting. Merits further investigation. WHO'S WHO UK definitely miss deaths. I've seen people being listed as living there for up to two years after their actual death, but not 10 years. Would be unprecedented but perhaps possible. I'm not sure what their process is for verifying living status, but his continued inclusion would tend to suggest he was alive "recently".

You're quite right. He died on 15 July 2012, one week shy of his 90th!

I'll email them.

I also don't buy Barbara Wallace being 99 years old. She may be pushing 90, but she does not look anywhere near 100.
