That brings my Deathrace from this year down to just Kay Hagan and Roy Head. 18 deaths in under a year... and yet it'll be many years before another of those two die.

Pianist and accordion player Joe Vento, who has played with Sinatra et al, just turned 100. A milestone he's very lucky to reach - particularly as he's now suffering from pancreatic cancer. :xbones:

Please welcome Ms Diana Athill to this exclusive club. As she herself says, “The world is in a ghastly state and actually I’m quite glad not to have to live through very much more of it”

I absolutely welcome her to the 100 Club. Brilliant writer. I like how each of her last...6 or so books have basically said "this will probably be my last book".

Disney animator Ruthie Tompson is on BBC Four right now, interviewed as part of a documentary. Looks and sounds great for a lady turning 108 in July.

Edit: Don Lusk also interviewed on it. Turning 105 this year and looks great too.

Apparently age isn't the only thing in doubt.

HAHA yeah.... for all I know though, Pappukutty is like Pat or Chris over there, name can swing either way.
He prolly got teased and bullied constantly in school  'ha ha Pappukutty your mom named you after a GURRRL' and then got punched and lunch money stolen.

Don’t use other DP obit hosting site as a source.  Thanks.  Deadline is exactly what we are.  We aren’t a source, neither are they.

Neagu Djuvara, a big name in Romanian historical essays, has died aged 101.

Shockingly didn't make the Drop 40.

I expect Gillo Dorfles to go any day now because I think he and Barys Kit were twins!

Second hit for my theme if he obits. Not sure if he does, but picking someone that old who fits the theme couldn't be resisted. A sentimental favorite for me at this point, after all the times picked on the RDP. RIP...
