A well known story in my area, maybe not as well known a bit further a field, but you never know

Parents’ tributes to ‘inspirational’ Tayside man Stuart

A Tayside man, who overcame severe disability to fulfil his dream of writing a book, has died aged 38.

Joseph Sargent The Film Director of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three is dead at 89

That is a great movie, and I say that as someone who finds most 70s movies to be crap. It's a shame they hardly ever show that on TV but still regularly show the 2009 remake with John Twatvolta, one of the most boring and pointless movies ever made.

"The Taking of Pelham One Two Three" should never have been remade. same goes for "Get Carter", and "The Italian Job". There was talk of doing a remake of "The Lavender Hill Mob" but thankfully that never got past the casting phase.

One thing I didn't realise until just now was that Gene McGovern co-founder of Lehrer/McGovern died back in January.

They were one of the main construction firms behind the building of the Canary Wharf tower and the other buildings in that area.
