TQR 14,395 Posted March 25 I've costed myself a fair few quid in the past when doing shopping under the influence that you don't remember the next day. Highlights are a pre-lit artificial 8ft christmas tree, and an 88-key hammer action piano-keyboard I don't know how to play. But Elton John knocks it straight out of the park with this: He took delivery of it, too!

time 8,602 Posted April 12 Just out of curiosity (knowing it'd probably be beyond my budget if it wasn't already sold out), I looked up ticket prices to see Frank Skinner at the theatre. There were a few available, at £32.96. Why 96p? Why not round it up to £33.00? It's not an isolated case either - the Freddie Mercury tribute tickets are from £29.36; Count Arthur Strong £27.42, Iain Stirling £26.87, plus many more. Who comes up with prices 9and why)? (I hate standing charges, grr). Compared to what the media keep reporting as 'average' mines not bad and it's pushing 3 times that.

time 8,602 Posted April 17 Its the 54th anniversary of Apollo 13's return to earth. As a kid, I was aware of it, never seen any of these TV broadcasts before (featuring James Burke, Patrick Moore & Cliff Michelmore amongst a few others who I don't recognise).
