Gerda van der Kade-Koudijs has died:

http://nos.nl/artikel/2025942-olympisch-kampioene-van-der-kade-koudijs-overleden.html

No Points at the moment.

Well, that's my second pseudo-hit this year for my theme team, a unique pick no less. I'm afraid no DDP approved obit will come, considering what happened to Ruska. :banghead:

Does this little story on Wim Ruska not count for DDP? http://news.yahoo.com/olympic-judo-champion-wim-ruska-dies-74-120224268.html

It has to be the UK editions of Yahoo/HuffPo.

Whoops, didn't even notice HuffPost was different. That's what comes of listening to the Partick Thistle match while trying to post! Well, I tried, don't give up hope, the Independent seems to catch up with these things gradually, I'd pay attention there over the next wee while.

I stick Ruska's name in google about once a week. There's still quite some 2015 left for them to catch up. I'm not holding my breath.

Ruska seems like the type the Independent write an obit for months after they died so I think it is not all lost for those who picked him.

I just checked: that'll be me, he's also a unique pick. I haven't given up hope for a proper obit yet. I wonder if they'll pick up mrs Van der Kade's demise.

Does anyone think 20 for 20 will ever be achieved?

I was a little surprised that last year's winner "only" had 11 hits. Everyone with at least 5 hits by the end of this month is on track to get 20 hits by the end of the year, at that rate. But the early hits are probably the easy ones, like Sam Simon or Little Jimmy Dickens. I guess the probability is extremely high that at least one or two out of 20 terminally ill people makes a turnaround, like Valerie Harper (or Wilko Johnson). But how can the odds of late-year hits be improved? Maybe by choosing a couple of "likely" fluke hits, like Gascoigne? Maybe by choosing people who are doing better late this year, but whose illness could always make a turn for the worse next year?

Thanks for your hard work TMIB. Not sure the scoreboard or Who's Dead pages have been updated, but that might sort itself. (I'm not affected, still have a clean sheet and zero points - I shall forever be Norway *sigh*).

Points haven't been awarded for Stuart Wagstaff although his death is recorded.
