Ideas And Possibilities For 2016

Whilst having some research fun I discovered that 4 of the 5 men who directed episodes of Sanford & Son are still alive; none are spring chickens, but I couldnt find any specific health issues at this time on any of them. Perhaps better to post in Surpised They're Alive thread.

SC

I don't think the writers would get orbit but Norman Lear shoud be a shoe in for the deathlist

It depends on if the surviving directors also directed something more notable. I've tried watching a couple of episodes of Sanford and Son and I realized that that's an hour of my life I'll never get back. Some of the "writers" of the episodes have written for other shows, so they may well be in with a shot of a qualifying obit.

Movie producer Russell Wolfe (God's Not Dead) has rather advanced ALS, this is a SLAM DUNK for 2016, YOU LISTENING COMMITTEE?!?

There's a report here of his death. I'd rather await something more substantial to confirm. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/05/29/hollywood-filmmaker-who-made-a-positive-impact-in-our-culture-for-christ-dies-his-legacy-will-continue-to-influence-the-world/

Yes, some more sources:

Darn it. I wanted to include him for 2016. Didn't expect him to go so fast.

Interesting development, now that he's dead, the screenwriters of 'God's Not Dead' are getting sued by other producers who claim to have written a similar movie:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/dinesh-dsouzas-film-partner-sues-798948

These other producers are collaborators of Dinesh D'Souza, a conservative celebrity/activist/TV voice/director who is currently in jail for illegal campaign financing (I think he's in jail, but he was definitely convicted for it). The D'souza team created cheap, crappy "documentaries" catered to political conservatives and I think this suit is now meant to settle who is going to be the sole major producer of Conservative movies. God's not Dead showed that there is good money to be made from it.

Not really 2016, but maybe 2018. Jillion Potter, USA rugby hopeful, completes chemo for tumor on jaw, was previously on Olympic squad hoping to come back for 2016. She's a nobody now, but should she make it and participate, her story may be interesting enough for an obit, but shes probably ok for a couple years yet. Who can say?

Note article says 'she and her WIFE' have concerns I cancer returning, so we aren't dancing on the head of a pin with words like her partner or companion ;-)

I had actress Jane Withers (April 12, 1926) in my 2013 DDP team. In 2011, she mentioned in an article that...

These days, at 85, she suffers from vertigo, “which isn’t good,” she said, “cause I keep falling, and every time I do, I end up in the hospital. That’s been the last four years of my life. I’ve spent so much time in the hospital.”

On top of that, she appears to have an illness by the name of lupus.

Is it worth reinstating her for the 2016 team? A hit would produce one less point if she makes it through at least April.

Prog rocker John Wetton, bassist and vocalist with King Crimson, UK and Asia, had a malignant growth successfully removed in May. He also had heart surgery in 2007.

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/john-wetton-surgery/

This follows on from the announcement that Chris Squire, bassist with Yes, has a rare form of leukaemia.

Should we start a thread for prog rockers?

Speaking of which, any update in Chris Dreja ? Next year will be 5 years since his two strokes, and he'll be 72.

Thorne seems to "come clean" with his gambling problems about every five years doesn't he? The story about him commentating on a match he was losing £38,000 on (a John Parrott clash) is one of sport's funniest and most depressing.

So all famous people over 97 have to be on the list automatically? What about an unhealthy 88 year old?

their hasn't been news on George gaynes for years also admit you were shocked when you found out he was still alive also people in the 90s always get picked for the death list because at that age even a flu could kill them. While were on topic yes I would pick a unhealthy 88 if that person was in poor health not like one visit to the hospital at the end if the year like ed asner was

Corporate investigator Peter Humphreys, who was imprisoned in China after getting caught up in the GlaxoSmithKline bribery case, has been released early and is now in hospital receiving treatment for a potentially serious form of cancer

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3075597/Burt-Reynolds-79-cuts-frail-figure-walks-cane-meeting-fans-Wizard-World-Comic-Con.html -Burt Reynolds looks incredibly gaunt and frail .Reminds me of Robin Gibb and Dennis Hopper towards the end.A must have for next years list judging by these pictures.

Looking at those Photos i would be surprised if he lives to see next year he looks as if he is near the end, wouldn't be surprised if he had Cancer.

Must be something like that.I know he is 79 and has had infections but I doubt that alone would make you look that ill.

I just saw these pictures before seeing your post, and I said exactly the same to my old man - he'll definitely be on my list if he sees January 1st.

I might even make him my joker. He is an awful yellow colour as well.Liver cancer maybe?Or Stage 4 cancer that has spread to the liver.Whatever it is though I think it must be very serious. It is sad to see him like this.

Still has a full head of hair if he was receiving chemo wouldn't it have fallen out or does that only effect some ? Also he may of chose not to receive chemo hence him looking bad and still having full head of hair.

Isn't he reputed to have worn a hairpiece for years?
