Sir Peter Graham-Moon

Quote

SIR Peter Graham-Moon, once branded the "philandering baronet", has died, aged 80.

He hit the headlines in 1992 after his wife Sarah took spectacular revenge upon discovering his latest fling.

The scorned Lambourn Woodlands woman poured paint over her husband's prized BMW and hacked the sleeves from his £1,000 Savile Row suits.  In a further artistic flourish, she pinned his boxer shorts to the aerial.

As a finale, Lady Sarah tipped his Cuban cigars on the floor and jumped all over them.

But perhaps the most creative act of revenge had been distributing the contents of his lavishly-stocked wine cellar around surrounding areas such as East Garston, home to his new love interest.

To this day, some villagers fondly remember waking to find a £300 bottle of vintage claret on their doorstep as if it were a bottle of milk.

The affair was a gift to the tabloids and even broadsheets such as The Times and The Telegraph couldn't resist the heady mix of aristocracy, sex and revenge.

'Lady Sarah makes plonker of Sir Bonker' screamed The Sun.

She had apparently cut just one arm from each suit, telling reporters: "He only needs one arm for what he does best."

Looking into it, the numbering of the Perth titles seem to be very complicated thanks to the family being attainted for Jacobitism, but later having the titles restored to them. Wiki article does state that the 'present' Earl considers himself the 18th. Assuming that it hasn't been completely updated, that would pertain to the just deceased. His father's article says that he was 'informally' known as the 17th, so that checks out.

The 7th Earl was the first and longest-serving Secretary-General of the League of Nations.

Apologies if this has been brought up before, but it has suddenly occurred to me that Norton Knatchbull, 3rd Earl Mountbatten of Burma (born 1947) has been noticeably absent from royal events the last few years. At the funerals of Prince Philip and the Queen, his wife Penny was photographed attending, but I cannot find any evidence or photos suggesting that he attended either events. This seems strange given how close the Mountbatten family is to the royals. I remember there was talk of his health back in 2016 when Charles walked his daughter down the aisle instead of her father, and the last time he appeared in public was at his mother's funeral back in 2017. Again, if this has already been discussed on the site, I apologize. Just wondering if anyone's heard anything.

I don't really know anything new, but he's been persona non grata with the Royals, the locals and anyone else who matters since he dumped Penny and ran off to the Bahamas to live with another woman. He crept back a few years later with his tail between his legs, but was unforgiven. The claims of poor health might be a tactful excuse for keeping his head down.

He has dementia. If they were just saying it was poor health it could be cover but sayIng it’s Dementia would be pretty bad if it wasn’t.

Is it speculation, or has his family come out and confirmed he has dementia?

Marion Stoner, an Australian model and the first wife of Alexander Montagu, 13th Duke of Manchester, has reportedly died of inoperable cancer: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12125629/EDEN-CONFIDENTIAL-Farewell-glamorous-Duchess-Manchester-attacked-speargun.html

Bit of a story - a very short lived relationship when it was found that the said Duke had fired a speargun at her. Then he went and married his second wife - three years before he divorced Marion, thus he became a bigamist. He was later jailed for burglary and making a false police report as recently as 2017. He's packed three marriages and all of the above in just 60 years.
