DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted May 5, 2015 I've placed an eye-wateringly large wager on Ben Bradshaw winning for Labour in Exeter at odds of 1/33. He won't lose and you can't get that rate of interest in the bank. I've also checked the small print and I get my money back if he dies before Thursday. charon 4,943 Posted May 5, 2015 £30k for a grand ? Nah. Far better bets out there for decent wedges. And Dr z , I hate that film, but is it any worse, than those who feel accursed ? It is great watching en@land go down the shitter because they fucked up the Indy referendum by turning into an election (totally different things, a fact that bypassed most of the electorate ). DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted May 5, 2015 £30k for a grand ? Nah. Far better bets out there for decent wedges. You're probably right, but I'm more certain of this than anything else and it has to feel safe, otherwise I wouldn't do it. Mind, I'm a dead man walking on Friday if he loses. In my constituency, the Tories are 1/100, so not worth putting a fiver on... I'm still tempted by betting that the Lib Dems will get more votes than UKIP overall though. Sean 6,303 Posted May 5, 2015 I just placed a £100 bet on a labour-lib dem coalition on Friday. I'm looking forward to my winnings ! I would be skeptical on that bet as the SNP losses to Labour surely make a Conservative majority a strong possibility.Or certainly a conservative minority propped up by the Liberals UKIP and possibly the DUP. Windsor 2,233 Posted May 5, 2015 It is great watching en@land go down the shitter because they fucked up the Indy referendum by turning into an election (totally different things, a fact that bypassed most of the electorate ). You lost the referendum - and not because of the English. Get over it. You'll probably gain a few seats, but you'll still be as significant as my fart from last Monday: a bit annoying at the time, but now everybody's forgotten about it.
YoungWillz 20,969 Posted May 6, 2015 Entries for guesses I'm closing at 6pm on May 7th. Any last guesses/entries are most welcome. I'll put up a list of results in due course. Prize of smug self-satisfaction to the winner. Just to be clear, I'm going for Jim Murphy.

YoungWillz 20,969 Posted May 6, 2015 I'll go for practically all labour MPs in Scotland. Spread betting, like your style! I may have to take your first answer of Nick Clegg though so I don't have a monster post of every election result! Best to stick with profile politicians, though admittedly the spotlight is on most Labour candidates up here.

maryportfuncity 10,623 Posted May 6, 2015 A minor, but interesting possibility concerns which - if any - of the 20 Monstor Raving Loony candidates might cream a legitimate political party and do a Fort William by avoiding bottom spot. Hairy Gnorm (aka Norman Davidson) in Faversham and Mid Kent is rated as having a passable chance of taking sixth place, one spot above a beleagured English Democrat who might lose any potential support to UKIP.
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted May 6, 2015 I heard a Norfolk town near the border with Suffolk is close to electing a UKIP MP. But some members of the immigrant community have arrived and started a dissuadement campaign called "Don't Diss".

A long time since their greatest hour - finishing above the SDP in the Bootle by-election. Current Runners and Riders for convenience: (long list cut for size) At this late stage then: Soubry, Reckless, Morgan, McVey, Simon Hughes, Curran, Kennedy (sadly), and Danny. That ICM poll for Sheffield Hallam was so annoying.

msc 18,420 Posted May 7, 2015 Danny. Between the Lib Dem collapse, his own unpopularity, and the extent of bedroom tax issues up north, we could be talking Tatton 1997 levels of vote collapse.

YoungWillz 20,969 Posted May 7, 2015 Entries closed. Results later. Enjoy the show and if any come across some footage of their favourite Portillo Moment of this year's election, here's the place to put it. I've a nagging feeling there might be more surprises in store than we bargained for.
