Joey Russ 7,330 Posted March 3, 2018 Guardian wrote an article on her a few days ago, so congratulations gcreptile on the punt. I knew about her, but there wasn’t anything about her that got me convinced that she’ll die this year...
gcreptile 11,333 Posted March 3, 2018 I consider her the best pick of the competition this year (if she obits, which she will). She had a blog, one had to follow it occasionally to see how things went bad. It was not a nice read.

Gooseberry Crumble 5,457 Posted March 3, 2018 Saddened to hear about Emma Hannigans passing. My mother has read several of her books including the heartwarmer the secrets we share. She still has some of her other books waiting to be read that were Christmas gifts from moi. Going by her social media she seems like a really lovely woman.
Bibliogryphon 9,709 Posted March 5, 2018 Following the death of Ursula K. Le Guin the earliest surviving winner of the Hugo award for best novel is Larry Niven (Ringworld). However he is not the oldest. That I think is Kate Wilhelm.

Sir Creep 7,092 Posted March 18, 2018 The Taiwanese writer and social commentator Li Ao has died of brain cancer at the age of 82. He passed away at Veterans General Hospital in Taipei on Sunday morning, doctors said. A vocal critic of both the mainland-friendly Kuomintang and the independence-leaning Democratic Progressive Party, Li was diagnosed with a brain tumour in July 2015 and his condition worsened in January. He is the anti-scrabble name of all-time! 4 points includes full first and last name! SC
