Deathrace 2016

Recommended Posts

Sheila Sim is dead at 93: https://www.thestage.co.uk/news/2016/sheila-sim-widow-of-richard-attenborough-dies-at-93/

Date of death: 19 January 2016.

Thanks, sorted, Toast is up to 699 points

And at least I have got some points on the board before it is all done and dusted.

Aye, don't do yourself down. I was under the impression Ms Feek would've brought about the end game by now but if she and Martin Crowe stumble into February they leave room for the odd randoms in the masterlist to mess with the standings.

Great dead pooling days these, eh?

Crowe and Feek are playing the Robin Gibb game of staying alive despite all the odds for longer than anyone would have thought possible.

Feek's doctors gave her 8 months in October, I think. So she could have until June. Probably not, but she technically will not have outlived her prognosis if she died in June.

Was that 8 months PRIOR to her discontinuing treatment on Oct 23? I've not seen that 8 month thing before so not sure what article it's from

Hmm... I'm not sure. Obviously that's relevant info, so I'll try to find it.

Couldn't find the article, but I assume it was before she stopped treatment, since in November, after entering hospice, they were hoping she'd see Christmas...

Shankar Ghosh is 'no more' according to this

http://www.ptinews.com/news/7009401_Tabla-maestro-Pt-Shankar-Ghosh-no-more.html

It's also on his sons Facebook page so that pretty much confirms it.

Thanks DDT.

That's today, right, so Dead Cow lives it up with 696 points from two hits

I think that moves Sir Creep within one hit distance of victory.

Hell yeah, 240 points short, those four figure scorers in full:

Sir Creep - 1776

Devon Death Trip - 1434

Switch - 1415

Jiroemonkimura - 1402

Death Impends - 1084

Deadsox - 1064

And, Sir Creep's team in full, the survivors should probably be afraid, be very afraid etc. etc.

Joey Feek

Patrick Harrington Jr.

Ken Hechler

John Jay Hooker

Emma Morano (Martinuzzi)

Forget Feek; Nakamatsu or Overton or Huston Smith could announce this afternoon and it would t surprise me--not to mention Crowe (Edit: or those over 115 yrs old). All overdue.

So SC, the obligatory interview:

To what do you attribute your current success?

Do you think any of the chasing pack have a reasonable chance of catching you?

Are we right in assuming the lack of Gabor or Graham doesn't cause you any lack of sleep?

After the extraordinary stroke of luck with Angelil and Koide, I'm still very hopeful. I'll need one of the following to croak right before Feek (who is my joker), any of which could go any day:

Adulyadej

Campbell

Gabor

Hansen

Havelange

Kohl

Marks

Rigas

Robinson

Slocombe

To win, I need some combination of Adulyadej, Booth, Gabor, Graham, Havelange, Pei, Vigoda and White to die before Feek does.

In other words, it ain't happening.

If you're mates with Vladimir Putin he could sort it.

SC still hasn't turned up for his pre-entrhonement interview.

Hooker is a crucial nail in the coffin of a repeat triumph here, as Sir Creep also has my joker (as you would expect!).

Yeah, but his skill/luck has been his deft picking, it'd be fitting if he went out on a unique pick of The Amazing Jonathan

Dr. NakaMats's usually chirpy Twitter has been completely silent so far this year, wouldn't be shocked if he's the one to deliver you 'cross the finish line.

Well, Christ, it looks like I'll end the competition with one hit, maybe two if SC's next hit is Feek.

Wow everyone was on top of this one, I didn't see it or read anything making it sound dire. Ugh

SC

On it, Death Impends ascends to a podium place; Sir Creep feels the breath of the chasing pack on his neck. Zsa Zsa or Billy Graham could stir it up bigtime now

And Brinson gives me 2,125 on the rebel deathrace and, as stated, I will match the charity contribution of £10 to whoever the winner chooses.
