Is he going to nuke Iran. He keeps saying something big will happen if Hamas doesn’t release the hostages but nuking Gaza would kill them anyway and damage parts of Israel so not likely.

One bloke said Greenland is ours

US forces are going to have to overcome a stubborn national population of 56,000 - that's nearly as many as say Welwyn Garden City.

Of course that total includes all ages, women, children and possibly a few huskies so it may take little more than a rubber dinghy of marine cadets.

The Danes will likely also show support by refusing to export Bacon and Lego to the US.

Tough call.

To get reactions, or because he spends too much time reading tabloidy clickbait/talking to his weird, sheltered family.

Some of us relax by reading or watching TV or listening to music, Crem relaxes dreaming of mushroom clouds.

To think all this could’ve been avoided if that bloke had a better aim.

Mind you, not sure if it makes much odds as Trump has inspired a generation of nutters to continue his legacy.

Has now suggested he will use extreme tariffs to force Denmark to hand over strategically important Greenland. Has also referred to the US-Canada border as an "imaginary line", which on one basic level is a true statement and on another is an statement of imperialism Vladimir Putin would be proud of.

I am fuming. Worst is that our politicians are so scared of losing our friendship with the U.S. that they aren't telling the orange fuck to fuck the fuck off.

If we give up Greenland for him, I will lose all faith in our government. Last time, Mette Frederiksen acted fast and told him off. Now she is on her knees and suggesting that we will see.

We are literally being threatened by a close ally and no one with power is doing shit other than telling how close we will work with the people of Greenland and Trump to solve this in the best way.

And she is of the centre - I imagine the right of Danish Politics is even more desperate to appease Trump.

Reminds me of Germany / Hitler's annexations in the 1930's. Everyone appeased him until it was too late....

End of Ukraine War. Trump says Putin can have Ukraine as long as Putin does not interfere in USA having Greenland. Simples.

I think a character assassination would do more damage to Trump than an actual assassination. Imagine a strong gust of wind and a water balloon to the face, no-one is going to forget the inevitable images of him after that (and not in a good way from his perspective).

Or better yet, if he could have gone after Trump back when Haley was still left in the Republican race and there was still some hope of sanity eventually prevailing in the Republican camp.

Nuts that we're even discussing this but Greenland is part of Denmark, Denmark is part of the EU - if they are threatened by the US, the EU will retaliate. Greenland wants to be independent, it doesn't want to be the 51st state. All they have to do is ride it out for 4 years and Trump's gone anyway. I worry for Panama more. But equally, we do know that it doesn't take much for Trump's attention to turn elsewhere. So by February he may have forgotten all about it and moved on to trying to abolish the Department of Health instead.

Only sort of, they have one of those devolved parliaments of their own, I looked it all up on....admittedly wiki.

And clearly whilst my post wasn't entirely serious their entire population is within a gnats whisker of some sleepy English town. I can't really envisage Eastbourne or Hartlepool demanding independence and getting it. As ever it's about geographical usefulness and if you're not in the least interested in ecological matters - resources.

Aye, Trump just does it to stir things up. Mind you, if he abolished any Department of Health that exists (is there one? off to wiki again I guess) in the US, one could argue it could only improve things. Private healthcare just got one of it's CEO's shot and there was close to a day of national rejoicing in the fact.

That's like saying the Falkland Islands aren't British, and we weren't prepared to give them up. And Greenland is actually useful, full of natural resources rather than just...sheep. :D

I think it's called the Department of Health and Human Services and its about to be gutted by its new Secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr.

Well, since you bring it up, what is a small island nation in the North Atlantic doing with a sheep filled rock 5,000 miles away in the South Atlantic?

It's all a question of perspective and on what date in history some aggressive nation took something they wanted.

Edit: RFK, ironic really. Anyway, I stand by it, healthcare is so broken in the US you have to wonder how they could make it worse really.

What would be hilarious if Felonious Trump were to get a different sentence from that hinted at shortly.

Anyway, USA, USA, USA...will be led for some time by a convict. A criminal. And to be frank, that is a banana republic in my book.

I feel for Americans...you are better than your leader elect.

I still feel he may not make the full term and thus again, he won't be on my Inverse Pool list any time soon.

Tbf Greenland really likes being part of Denmark and I can't think why. Unrelated they've got half a billion in EU subsidies for their local economy due to being part of Denmark in the past fifteen years.

We (the Brits) have tried to get rid of Gibraltar and iirc the Falklands but they keep stubbornly voting to remain British. Someone likes us!

Quite, Welwyn Garden City's population should be so lucky. They could have a few new bus routes with half a billion, probably a new park too.

I'd agree, except I have a nagging doubt it's less someone likes us and more nobody likes change.

ETA: Oh and for those cba to look it up? (most I'd imagine). Greenlands entire population is 56,000, it would only half fill a big stadium.

Not all. The leader of Greenland wants independence rather than being part of Denmark, the USA or anywhere.

We'll be just fine brother.  A majority of us are happy to get rid of the Cacklin' Coconut and the Weekend at Biden's corpse/muppet. Total morons. We don't care what you people across the pond think. Could care less and take care of your own houses because they could burn down at any minute with your insane immigration policies. Basically...fuck off...

I'm sure you will.

I just don't like your choice of politicians. From either side.

Your whole governing system is a corrupt cabal of vested interests where money is exchanged for policy.

But you don't care what I think. But that's what I think. And by not caring, you can easily disregard and disagree, which you are free to do. Doesn't stop your leader elect from being a convicted felon. At this point, that much is true.

And where the leader is a criminal, why should the people obey the law? The example sits atop you all. ;)

This chat has been had hereabouts before

Young shooter, brought up on video games went for the head. A "boiler plate shot" into Trump's abundant upper body would likely have changed the presidential race and history, even if Trump had survived.

'Could care less'... ooooh, this is how you stick it to our tyrannical monarchical regime, right? By butchering the language with such moronic phrases?

But that's far from your biggest national defect at the moment. That would be the fact that too few of you seem to care that your choice of leader has consequences across the globe, and it's more than you who has to put up with them.
