I was going to amaze you with some stats but actually, I had a look at my notes and only person I've got dying of kidney cancer in DDP terms is Wubbo Ockels. Mostly it's spread from elsewhere.

 

Gordon Banks another kidney cancer survivor.

EDIT 2 - Of course, a few under renal cancer. Doh.

But upon quick googling, I read that it was a 30-year-long fight which he basically put an end to himself when he quit treatment.

It's a slow cancer, I guess.

Guessing that not many deaths from kidney cancer isn’t too surprising, as the stage 4 cancer 5 year survival rates is 62%. I think Cocksy is more likely gone than not due to lack of treatment options. 

And yes, I apologize to those of you who thought that Donald Trump has kidney cancer.

Answering my own question, on my long list I still have uuh.. Debra Saunders-White, a university president, Francis Cardinal George (re-googling it - wikipedia says it was bladder cancer), and then my own hit 9/11 first responder Ray Pfeifer (but the CNN obit says it was basically cancer everywhere) and a couple of names with kidney cancer on top of something else: Sitaram Panchal (with lung cancer), Paul Van Zandvliet (with brain tumour) and Salvatore Riina (with Parkinson's).
