Granny, the world's oldest killer whale has died. RIP, and a near miss for death list, why did nobody mention her?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38496164

One of our unwritten rules are we are only allowed to predict the deaths of humans, not animals.

I know the rules, I was on this website (other name) while you were still listening to S club 7. About time we changed the rules, I mean the Queen mother was about as human as robocop when she left us, let's have animals too.

Well, if you believe David Icke and his shape shifting lizard theories we have nominated animals in the drop 50

That nutter still talking crap?

And the one he knocked up four times to squat over the eggs when they hatched.

Incidentally, does anyone know their Icke-lore well enough to comment on whether the last king of Romania is reptilian?

Tilikum, the SeaWorld "killer" killer whale as featured in the documentary Blackfish, dead at 36.

The fact that TMZ broke this story makes me a lot happier than it should.

Circuses are a thing of the past, but at least we still have rodeos to humiliate and abuse animals.

#6: A bucking horse at the Stock Show rodeo died Sunday night after crashing into a wall and suffering a spinal cord injury. The incident happened during a saddle bronc event at the Will Rogers Coliseum. A horse also died of a similar injury during a saddle bronc event at the rodeo on Jan. 16. Video of Sunday’s incident was shot by Bruce Weidner, a rodeo fan from Benbrook. The footage shows the horse — a 9-year-old named Treasure of Patience, Brockman said — bucking straight toward a wall, crashing into it head-first as the eight-second buzzer sounds.

#8: The animal care staff at the El Paso Zoo have received a biopsy report indicating a mass in 49-year-old Asian elephant Juno’s right mammary gland appears malignant, meaning the cells in the mass are exhibiting cancerous characteristics.

These results come after several months of close observation and multiple diagnostic procedures. Since receiving the biopsy results, zoo veterinarians have been actively researching safe treatment options and consulting with national elephant health experts to determine the best course of action.

Cancer of any kind is extremely rare in elephants,” said Zoo Veterinarian Dr. Victoria Milne. “There is no record of a malignant mammary gland tumor ever reported in all of veterinary literature or in the collective veterinary knowledge.”

Yeah I'd say that's kinda rare.

#9: Norwegian zoologists have found about 30 plastic bags and other plastic waste in the stomach of a beaked whale that had beached on a southwestern Norway coast. The visibly sick, 2-ton goose-beaked whale was euthanized, Terje Lislevand of Bergen University said Friday.

"The (whale's) stomach was full of plastic," Lislevand said, adding that its intestine "had no food, only some remnants of a squid's head in addition to a thin fat layer."

Well done, humans!

#12: Several of The Bahamas' famous swimming pigs have died after the animals were reportedly fed by tourists. The pigs are an international sensation on the shores of the Exuma Cays.

The Bahamian government has prohibited the feeding of the pigs after seven of them were found dead. About 15 of the pigs are still alive. The pigs have been on the beach for almost 30 years and nothing like this had ever happened before.  The pigs were reportedly given beer and rum by tourists. Bahamian government officials have not confirmed the cause of death.

Sir Creep hopes that is how he dies.

Omsin the turtle dies from blood poisoning.

Omsin means piggy bank; she was so named as she swallowed coins thrown in her pond by tourists for luck. Nearly a thousand coins weighing 5kg were removed in an operation two weeks ago.
