Sir Creep 7,070 Posted February 9, 2017 Could Oregon in 2017 be the Utah of 2015? According to this article: 1. State Senator Jackie Winters, R-Salem, who missed the session while recovering from heart surgery, is set to drop the final gavel in her chamber. 2. ...That would fulfill what could be the final legislative wish of Rep. Vic Gilliam, R-Silverton, who's battling Lou Gehrig's disease. SC Gilliam officially stepping down, can no longer perform job duties. SC
msc 18,421 Posted February 9, 2017 Sir John Wells, a long term former Tory MP for Maidstone from 1959 to 87, has died aged 91. He was noted for his strong support of the farming industry, and on one occasion made a point by loudly chomping on a Kentish apple during a speech by a Labour Minister of Agriculture, as a protest against cheap French imports. On another occasion, to demonstrate his support for rural life, he rode his horse to the House Of Commons, while wearing a bowler hat and pinstripe trousers. msc 18,421 Posted February 11, 2017 http://www.writeyou.co.uk/manchestergortonbyelection:Unverified report speculating about Gerald Kaufman. When this very article was brought up elsewhere, those in the know mentioned how difficult selection battles can be to replace long term MPs. Decades to build up grudges, you see. Doesn't appear to be a kept secret that Kaufman is seriously ill now.
