Clarissa Slade, 21, was elected in 2015, when she was 18, to represent Tiverton as a Conservative councillor on Mid Devon District Council.

She was found dead at her home in Winchester, where she was going to university, by her housemate.

It is not yet known what caused her death.

If you can explain to everyone here especially Joey how typing 'Clarissa Slade' into the search box pulls up your post, I'm happy to tear up my Masters of Library Science degree.  I think what we have done here is educate YOU to type the person's name so it's searchable.

Jimmy Carter was mentioned a few months back after having to fight against Cancer but seeing him stabbing jokes into the side of Donald Trump with Stephen Colbert, I think he'll be around for a few years more. He can still run for president....

A retired real-estate agent, Ted Land served in the Georgia Senate, representing District 16 from 1979-1990. He also served on Columbus (GA) Council for two and a half years in the mid-1990s.
Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton said Land, 81, was pronounced dead at Columbus Hospice on Moon Road at 1:14 a.m. Saturday.

I added that last sentence cuz of its absurd detail, pretty odd I think.
Looks like Ted Land is getting some land, at the cemetery.

Politics on a small scale, but worth a look-see for Cup hopefuls or mid year DPs where applicable maybe.
Former Big Island (Hawaii) Mayor Billy Kenoi wrote a Facebook message to friends, family, clients and students that a rare form of bone cancer he was diagnosed with three years ago has recently returned

So far Cardinal Roger Etchegaray (ret.) remains the only elderly person of note who has had the death knell broken hip and seemingly gotten over it.  He had God on his side though.
[ok let's limit my comment to folks 88 and over (this ropes in Karolos), as we've already beaten the argument to death what 'elderly' means; and don't resurrect THAT discussion here, cunto!]

Lansley wanted bowel checks at 55 which his successor, Jeremy Hunt, postponed? I've heard of getting rid of your predecessor, but that's taking it a bit literal!

Always find Geoffrey Dodsworth quite ironic as he stood down to force a by-election due to ill health in 1979 which is something MPs usually only do when they are on their very last legs and 38 years later he's still batting at the age of 89 having outlived most of his contemporaries.

Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? Anyhow.....

U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, has been diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer and will undergo surgery Wednesday to remove her right kidney.

The stage IV cancer was found during a routine physical, and it has spread to one of her ribs.  Hirono, 69, said she's being treated by a kidney cancer specialist at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. Her treatment plan includes surgery to remove her kidney followed by an outpatient procedure to eradicate the lesion on her rib.

Must be something in the water.

Sen. Breene Harimoto, D, Pearl City, Aiea, Halawa, has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

He made the announcement Thursday on the Senate floor at the State Capitol as he cast his vote against "Our Care, Our Choice," Hawaii's medical-aid-in-dying bill.

This is Harimoto's second battle with cancer.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just last year, and went into remission after undergoing chemotherapy.

I think we have established with the likes of Ruth Samuelson etc that state senators are unlikely to gain much traction for a QO, so I am posting this for all to see.  He would be quite useful in other pools of course, and I see no reason he can't skate into 2019, so he's Cup useless, so I am posting this for all to see.
Anyway, I'm keeping the Hawaiians all in a 'neat neat neat' folder with a pretty bow on it for you.

High profile Hawaiian politicians always seem to die in office.

Congressman Mark Takai died of pancreatic cancer in 2016.

Congresswoman Patsy Mink died of viral pneumonia in 2002.

Senator Daniel Inouye died of respiratory complications in 2012.

I would keep a look out on 93-year-old former Senator Daniel Akaka and of course Mazie Hirono.

Interesting name only for Deathlist Cup purposes but I thought this personality deserves a bit more attention - John Howard, mayor of Lancaster, South Carolina.

Had a stroke in 2017: http://www.thelancasternews.com/content/mayor-suffered-stroke-–-‘i-dodged-bullet’

Then diagnosed with lung cancer: http://www.thelancasternews.com/content/mayor-howard-begin-cancer-treatment

Then he had an auto-immune reaction to chemo: another link but I'm paywalled now.

Then he had pneunomia: another link but I'm paywalled now.

Anyway, now he's recovering....

No one gave him a whirl in the Cup, but he's dead regardless.
