The death of William Winter who was the 2nd oldest ex  US governor means Jimmy Carter is now the 5th oldest. I wonder if he'll make it to the top ?

Death notice for Narindar Saroop (wiki), aged 91, Conservative councillor and the first Asian Tory Parliamentary* candidate (Greenwich constituency during the 1979 General election).

* of modern times... technically the predecessor of the Conservative Party, which was actually called the "Tory Party", had Sir Mancherjee Bhownaggree (wiki) as an MP from 1895 to 1906.

Mauno Koivisto, Finnish President from 1982-1994, dead at 93 years.

Koivisto's widow Tellervo hospitalized after a fall resulting in a broken hip:

Tellervo Koivisto is also a politician, a former member of parliament and Helsinki alderwoman. She's become very frail lately. (Has also had mental health issues for her entire life but those often aren't a large problem at 91.)

Seemingly indestructible Edwin Edwards discharged after two days spent in hospital with "a bad cold" (no, not the COVID).

And back into hospital he is.

Awww, he was just a baby :(

Congressman-elect Luke Letlow died Tuesday evening from complications with COVID-19, shaking the Louisiana political world weeks after his election to represent Louisiana's 5th District in Congress as the state's youngest U.S. representative.

Letlow was admitted to a Monroe hospital with COVID-19 symptoms on Dec. 19th before being transferred to the Shreveport hospital and moving to the intensive care unit on Dec. 23rd.

Obit for academic Roy Douglas (wiki), who died in mid-December aged 95.

Worthy of a mention in here because he stood as a candidate (for the Liberals) in the 1950 and 1951 UK General Elections. I'm not aware of any other candidates from those elections still living.
