Actually I j ust checked and Du Canns death means there are just 3 surviving ministers from the 1951-64 tory govt,namely Lord Carrington, James Ramsden and Bertram Bowyer

Sir David Robert Ford, British Chief Secretary of Hong Kong (1986-1993), has died aged 82. He was the last non-ethnic Chinese to hold the post. The surviving holders of the post are Sir David Akers-Jones (age 90), who also served as acting Governor and Anson Chan (age 77), who also served as the first Chief Secretary following handover to China.

Jim Anderton, former NZ Deputy PM is apparently in declining health. Perhaps just about known enough in the UK to get a Grauniad obit.

Well, that goes without saying, but it depends how ill she is - many different types of brain cancer after all.

Also when it was caught - early enough and she could be perfectly fine for a couple of years.

She's definitely a DDP cert for next year then. Didn't a former US cabinet member suffer from terminal cancer about ten years ago and was a hit for some teams but didn't make the deathlist that year?

Do you mean the UK?Mo Mowlam died from brain cancer in 2005.

Mo Mowlam kept her terminal diagnosis secret, but I suspect modern Deathlisters would have spotted it.
