Yoko to receive the Edward MacDowell Medal for lifetime achievement. Article does mention that "Ono, 91, has made few public appearances in recent years and is not expected to attend the July awards ceremony, at the MacDowell campus in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Ono's music manager, David Newgarden, will accept the award on her behalf."  Yoko Ono to receive Edward MacDowell Medal for lifetime achievement (msn.com)

It could also be because she doesn't want to go to New Hampshire!

Sean Lennon has been ranting on Twitter recently. Most recent is this one:

"Good witch of the east" geddit?! Cause she's fucking Asian!! *da bum tiss*

For real, this tweet just shows that Seán Lennon is a talentless nepo baby without a poetic bone in his body. If he was talented he might have come up with something better than the racially clumsy "good witch of the east" descriptor.

He came up with a zinger on another Twitter post. I'll see if I can find it.

No, life's too short.

Anniversary of Lennon's death a-coming up, so obviously there will be a story about Yoko.

Sean Lennon states she hasn't moved on since his death: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-14163059/yoko-ono-never-moved-john-lennon-death.html

Some lovely pictures but no health news as such.

Whatever you think of Ono as an artist and especially a singer hearing in such stark terms who much she clearly loved John is heart-warming and heart-breaking in equal measure.I would bet she is in frail health based on everything I read but Sean is clearly holding his cards close to his chest on how she is.In his situation I would do the same but do I think she is very poorly behind the scenes?Probably but at nearly 92 that isn`t remarkable.I was never sure how she made the Drop 40 as early as she did. After the rumours this year I get it but before that just baffles me.

Searching around I found this Japanese-language article from 2017 where Yoko Ono's younger brother (Keisuke Ono) says Sean told him that Yoko was diagnosed with lewy body dementia in May or June 2016. Not sure if this was ever mentioned in non-Japanese news or the forums but I assume this is the "undisclosed illness" she has needed round-clock care for the last few years. Definitely should be kept on the list

Reminding of this again.

Yoko was horribly frail, wheelchairbound with a blanket in her last public appearance at a women's march back in January 2019. Of course Sean still occasionally insists that she is in perfect health, but Sean Lennon is a liar and a nutjob. The Yoko Ono twitter, FB and instagram accounts say in the description that they are "administered by Yoko's office, Studio One", there's probably a team crafting those posts. If you browse her twitter, especially John's death day post and the birthday posts for Ringo, Sean, Paul and others are usually copies from the previous year.

LBD average life expectancy is 5-7 years, she's on year 8. It would in no way suprise me if she's hooked up to machines in some horrible state and being kept alive by family.

Comparing her social media now to a decade ago it's clearly not the same person. Sean Lennon is nuts but any public comments about his mum have to be read through the prism of the family guarding her privacy fiercely. In private as above and elsewhere it's acknowledged Yoko is very poorly and tbh a few folk closer to them are surprised she's hung on as long as she has.

it's Yoko we're talking about, however hideous that scenario doubtless the family could defend it as an art installation in her longstanding tradition ("it's what she always wanted" etc.)
