RadGuy 1,614 Posted April 8, 2016 I have an idea for a new deadpool. I messaged a couple of people to see if it's a good idea and got mainly positive responses. So here I present to you, the Windy City Deadpool. Rules: Pick 20 people and 3 substitutes (submit on this thread or message me). They have to have been born on April 30, 1998 or earlier. They can't be on death row, nor can they be terrorists or terrorist hostages. Rank them from 1-20. If they die, the points you get depends on their rank. (NO BONUS POINTS!) 1: 500 2: 250 3: 200 4: 150 5: 100 6: 95 7: 90 8: 85 9: 80 10: 75 11: 70 12: 65 13: 60 14: 55 15: 50 16: 45 17: 40 18: 35 19: 30 20: 25 Obit rules are the same as under the DDP, but I will add the following American networks: ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC. Local affiliates don't count, though. I'll try to be as chill on the obits as possible. You have all year to find obits, until 00:00UTC on January 1st. If somebody dies on Christmas or later, you have until 00:00UTC on January 2nd. We start on May 1st, ending January 1st. Starting next year, it obviously lasts the whole year. Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions, I probably forgot a lot of stuff Edit 12/26/2016: In case you didn't know, it has been agreed upon that this will be a May-to-May pool. YoungWillz 21,059 Posted April 8, 2016 I'll probably have a go, though I'll wait until nearer the commencement date. The way the Reaper is scything through the famous and not so famous at the moment gives me pause.
Toast 16,146 Posted April 8, 2016 You really can have too much of a good thing......... I don't think we need any more deadpools running from 1st January. There's too much overload there as it is. And it's nice to have some competitions that latecomers can join. Why not keep it as a May to May competition? Although tbh this one sounds a bit like the Hartlepool Deadlypool, but less entertaining.

If not I'll just have it run till January and cancel it.

We have about 10 so far, but a few others have promised to submit towards the end so I think we'll get a few more.

Guest Wormfarmer Posted April 24, 2016 I like it. I would recommend adding a couple of major newspapers (NY Times, LA Times). They have easy to check obits and it brings the Yanks into the game a little bit better (than the Derby, for example). I am still waiting for an obit for Kitty Kallen over there. I'll play. Just got to put together a midyear list . . .
