The 2002 Deathlist had also two hits the same day: Dudley Moore and Milton Berle.

Actually, that had 3 hits in one day because of Billy Wilder...

And then the Queen Mum died at the weekend (48 hours later).

Everyone seems to be forgetting about last year, when Liz Smith and Richard Adams died on the same day but they were announced a few days late, 1 day apart...

Was just about to comment on that actually :P

R.I.P Tony. Never watched any of your stuff but I'm too much of a Canuck to do it.

RIP indeed. Death has to be a relief when one has that many health woes.

I remember that either the night in early 2008 when Liz Dawn's last episode of Corrie aired or on the day it was announced she'd be leaving the show (I think it was almost certainly the former) Tony Booth giving an interview about it on Channel 4 news. He was singing the praises of the old style feisty northern battleaxe female characters in Corrie and how they were sadly becoming a rarity. He gave huge praise to Liz and how she made Vera Duckworth such a unique special character. He ended the interview by saying God Bless her.

It was really sweet and when I realised they both died so close together I almost immediately rembered this interview and felt the fitting ironic poignancy of it.

Hey if he's cremated we could have Booth In The Fire.

One for the youngsters there.

Tony Booth gives me my 14th hit of the year. I'm too young to remember most of his stuff, but given his recent health problems this is a blessing. The added bonus is that we may be spared Tony Blair's opinions in the media for a while.

Feel sorry for his wife.Fair play to her for caring from him for 13 years until the bitter end. That is true love. She must be both devastated yet very relieved today.

Along with Liz Dawn this moves me a little bit higher in the DDP.

I got woken up by my phone buzzing with an alert to say that Liz Dawn had died. While I was reading the news, it buzzed again with the news that Tony Booth had died.

Sad news indeed, bu glad to hear that both are no longer suffering.

And there I thought the blood eyed look of David Rockefeller would be the best picture of the year. How wrong I clearly was...

Funniest thing about that pic is that it was taken at the Labour Party conference as Tony Blair (then PM) was called to the stage.

Mrs Booth gives a good tip in that article: Ernst Walder, noted thesp and one time Corrie actor, born 1927 and still with us.
