Whitehouse 857 Posted July 21, 2016 And there's the first one! A teenager has been killed in what could be the first death of someone playing Pokemon Go. Jerson Lopez de Leon, who was 18, was ambushed and died after being shot while he was playing the game with cousin Daniel Moises Picen, 17. It still isn’t clear why the two were attacked, police said. But they have speculated that it may have been that the attackers found the teenagers using the app itself – which has location features that make it possible to encourage people to go to specific areas, or to locate players. http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/pokemon-go-death-guatemala-shot-danger-safety-dead-a7145836.html

Whitehouse 857 Posted August 11, 2016 Anyone awake??! Hello, three days ago! Second Pokémon related death. More or less a carbon copy of the first one. Here's a summary of what already happened playing Pokémon.
Sir Creep 7,062 Posted August 12, 2016 Anyone awake??! Hello, three days ago!Second Pokémon related death. More or less a carbon copy of the fist one. Here's a summary of what already happened playing Pokémon. I dunno, neither death to me is Pokemon related, any more than blue jeans related (let's assume both deceased folks were wearing jeans). What I need to see is some bloke walk into traffic or off a cliff is summat whilst playing. Now, if the victims in these two incidents said something to their assailant like 'dude get outta my way I'm trying to catch a Pokemon' and got shot, I think then we are getting somewhere. rockhopper penguin 2,265 Posted August 29, 2016 A whole list of stupidity and the inevitable but no deaths http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-37183161 Niantic's safety advice can be summed up as 'don't go anywhere dangerous'.
Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted September 16, 2016 Don't Pokemon Go and drive! More than 110,000 road accidents in the US were caused by the game in just 10 days. The researchers looked at a random sample of 4,000 messages on Twitter and news reports over a 10 day period, which all contained the word Pokemon. From this, they estimated that a total of 113,993 incidents had been reported where drivers and pedestrians had been distracted by the game.

Because we needed research to tell us walking along or driving without looking where we are going is not a good idea.
Bluejay 8 Posted September 22, 2016 The current fad of today is playing Pokémon Go, searching for imaginary animal through augmented reality. But reality and augmented reality rarely mix well. Sir Creep 7,062 Posted January 4, 2019 Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot at a woman while she was playing Pokemon Go in northwest Atlanta last month. Investigators released new video of the shooting Thursday. In the video, a man with a handgun was shown climbing out of what appears to be a white work van and approaching the victim’s car just out of the frame. After the shooting, the man jumped back into the van and it drove off.
