Zsa Zsa's leg 884 Posted November 22, 2017 Must be late in the UK as nobody seems to be on. RIP David Cassidy, never enjoyed his music but I hope he rests well.
Sir Creep 7,070 Posted November 22, 2017 Very sorry to hear it. RIP
The Unknown Man 584 Posted November 22, 2017 RIP. Very sad indeed.
Vinegar Tits 606 Posted November 22, 2017 Sad but inevitable news. An already rotten week just got that little bit worse. RIP. Was never a fan of his music but, to be unashamedly shallow, he was seriously gorgeous when he was younger.
Joey Russ 7,227 Posted November 22, 2017 I’m probably going to get a lot of flack for this, but can I be the first to say that I never heard of him before I came to this site...
Sean 6,327 Posted November 22, 2017 Sad news.My Mum will be heartbroken. He was her first crush.Sadly inevitable given the circumstances. At least he is free of pain and didn`t linger with dementia for years like his mother which he said he feared.
YoungWillz 21,044 Posted November 22, 2017 I was more a Danny Bonaduce boy back then if I'm honest. David Cassidy was just that too bit well, boring, on The Partridge Family. And before you go accusing me of all sorts, Bonaduce is 7 years older than me.
RolandDeschain 91 Posted November 22, 2017 I think that he was more of an American thing wasn't he? I know The Partridge Family was a big thing and he had a decent music career but it was quite a long time ago since he was an household name. He was big in the early 1970s but didn't maintain his success IMO from looking at his bio. The only thing I can remember seeing him in was an episode of Tales Of The Unexpected where he plays twins but I obviously didn't grow up when David was famous. Is it me or are the rate of celeb deaths starting to increase (as they usually seem to do) in the last few weeks of the year. Keith Barron, Rodney Bewes, Cassidy - the rate has been increasing summat...again purely from my own observations..
Spade_Cooley 9,525 Posted November 22, 2017 He certainly had a heavy impact on one British fan.

He was a massively popular teen idol in the UK in the early 1970s, along with Donny Osmond. The influence was still there in the 90s.

RolandDeschain 91 Posted November 22, 2017 OK then - he was massive for a short period in both the US AND the U.K.. Kind of like The Bay City Rollers? Didn't have long lasting chart success? Before my time as I said...

Spade_Cooley 9,525 Posted November 22, 2017 If you want to hear something truly awful, here's David's daughter Katie (now a vaguely respected actress) covering his banger "I Think I Love You". It's like a parody of early 2000s pop:

I'll assume the intro, which is the only sampled section I heard, was David Cassidy. What song, I couldn't pick it out SC
