I've decided to not enter the Advent Avalanche as a team for next year, though if Spade wants to rip the master list from the first page onto the DDP database, I wouldn't mind. The reason I decided not to enter the Advent Avalanche was because I wanted to do a theme team for next year. I decided not to do the drummers since most of them are pretty healthy, though feel free to take any of them for next year. Instead, I offer you a theme team featured around the counterculture of the 1960s titled Peace, Drugs, and Death. Hugh Hefner and Charles Manson would've made the cut had they been still living, but I decided to reveal them now because a: I don't want to take time to think about this too much in order to spend time searching for other team members and b: all 20 were mentioned on the counterculture of the 1960's page. Reupped my Decaying Orbit-uaries theme team for another round. Team's mostly the same as before, just replaced the dead names with James McDivitt and Christopher C. Kraft Jr and bumped up Hawking to the joker.

I had the same though Toast until I remembered having two theme teams would save up a useful amount of space in the main team.Still not convinced my provisonal team can last 9 days though.

I submitted To Kill A Gabor Sister earlier today.

I thought it was pretty much ready two days ago, but then yesterday I ended up making a ton of last-minute changes. Ended up switching out a likely cult pick, a potential fraud, and a bonusless octogenarian ex-athlete. They're all in the sub bench now, and I ended up replacing them with a young musician, a survivor from my 2017 squad, and a new punt pick.

 

My research was terrible, so my picks aren't very original. All of them were mentioned on the forums before. Besides that, a quarter of my team is 80+ years old. Part of the reason I made the last-minute changes was to bring some more young blood in. 

 

I honestly don't know how I'm gonna do next year. A top 10 finish isn't out of the question. I'm currently at =11th in the 2017 competition, even though this time last year I was absolutely clueless as to how to create a good team. So it seems like I do have a lot of luck that will hopefully carry into next year. But I could also see myself not making the top 20. Time will tell.
