Kiwi Karkers

New Zealand may be included in the Australian constitution, but despite his close mateship with Malcolm Turnbull, I'm certain our former PM John Key will agree that we pursue a thoroughly independent set of policies, despite the huge Kiwi diaspora in the East of the West Island.

As such, I thought it was about due to have a new thread for us. I mean, no self-respecting Kiwi says 'Hooroo mate'. It's all 'chur bro' and 'aaaah, she'll be right' and 'oi'll hive sex scoops uvv fush and chups, cuz'

One of the Kiwis that has become public knowledge to everyone is John ‘Cocksy’ Cocks. He has terminal kidney cancer, and he can’t have chemo anymore (although kidney cancer isn’t that deadly, I think the Te Kiri Gold water might kill him).

Need some proper Dunedin Sound/Flying Nun alternative Kiwi music acts.

Just look up AFFCO by the Skeptics. Sadly, I think their lead singer's already dead.

Here are 3 notable NZ people who are sorta on the clock age/health wise

Luke Williams (1947)-WWE Hall Of Fame Wrestler
Butch Miller(1944)-WWE Hall Of Fame Wrestler

Pauline Parker(1938)-Parker–Hulme murder case which was the subject of the film Heavenly Creatures

Also a ton of people in the film and music industry, but not really anywhere close age wise to being Deathlist fodder  such as Ladyhawke,Rose McIver,Anna Paquin,Flight Of The Concord guys etc.

I'll give the entertainment question some thought at some point, but people like Geoff Murphy, Jane Campion, Sam Neill, Lee Tamahori, Temuera Morrison, Cliff Curtis are of the prior generation.

Roger Donaldson is arguably more Kiwi than Australian.

A good half of the BLERTA crowd are already deceased.

For those after Centenarians, I've just found out Sir Lloyd Geering, (ONZ & Heretic) is in the old folks' home round the corner from me. Still driving himself and saw him in a café a couple of weeks back. Looking fit for a while yet, perhaps.

That's back in March. Looks reasonably well with it to be honest. Still on Auckland Council as this confirms: https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/about-auckland-council/how-auckland-council-works/governing-body-wards-committees/wards/Pages/ward-councillors.aspx

I'm certain our former PM John Key will agree that we pursue a thoroughly independent set of policies, despite the huge Kiwi diaspora in the East of the West Island.

In my opinion let 'em go to the West Island, it improves the intelligence of both our countries.

Geoff Murphy, Director of my favourite NZ film (The Quiet Earth) has died according to Radio NZ. Wonder if he’ll pick up a UK obit.

One of the great but forgotten - over here -  80s SF films (like Miracle Mile). Much recommended. Sad news.

PS iirc he worked on the LOTR trilogy so should piss an obit.
