I might have made the decision not to pick him anywhere then... edit: Oh yeah, because you ruled out the unfamous picks. So I removed him myself.

Perhaps a bit hasty with declaring him not famous there gcreptile! He's certainly and obscure and minor celebrity by this pools standards, but his fundraising and activism would have got him in. He would have made it through the FFBI filter under the Tom Attwatter rule (one of the original rules) as he raised over $100,000 for charity. Probably in your interest to have removed him this year , but in future feel free to submit names like this if you think they're borderline for a ruling. I'm not sure why you'd want to though given they normally die by March. Quote Celebrities are disqualified if they are a celebrity because of their impending death. For clarification Tom Attwater - fundraiser dying of cancer was an eligible pick for his fundraising. This man who became critically ill after being hit by a trolley in M&S would not be an eligible pick if his identity were known for a game held in 2013, if the man were to recover, his extremely dubious claim to fame as the man hit by a trolley in M&S would be sufficient to see him eligible as a pick if he garnered the required obit. [[Some picks have really tested the limits of this rule and the game-runners patience this year).] The FFBI Filter in full from my notepad, in slighty neater forum numbered form rather than scrawl: Opener: Are they a household name or famous name I recognise from here: Accepted. (Check if there's two people with same name and clarify if so) Checking: Are they another name? Google them! 1. Are they notable for anything outside of illness at least locally*? Acceptable (usually involves finding articles on them) 2. Are they primarily notable for being ill at least locally? Go to Question 4/5. 3. Are they in no way notable at all? Ask the player who the fuck they are and evidence of fame, then returning to this. If still Yes then reject. 4. Have they done (off their own accord not kind strangers) any fundraisers or activism of note at least locally? Accept them. 5. Is they're illness only notable for the illness itself not their actions? Reject them, whilst providing opportunity to player to advocate for No. 4. *locally: within at least a area that has a local rag (major city, town, county, state, university with paper) (will they fucking obit, essentially?) Thankfully only No. 3 got used this year. I might put the filter in the OP for ease of use next year. It's fair to say rejections are bloody rare. It's pretty much to stop people picking the absolute bottom of the barrel for their picks like people with a long term illness/terminal illness/disability who had no intention of sharing it with the world, but the local press are hounding or people who get stabbed and rushed to hospital on new years eve and folk who are in the press selling their death, but have done nothing beyond that of note. Virtually everyone qualifies under Opener, 1, or 4 we had a handful of 3 then 1 or 4 this year, most of which were mis-spellings, and the one which wasn't won the Who the Feck Are They? award. I'm pretty sure there's been rejections in the past but they're not logged and those PMs are long since deleted by moth me and YW at this point.

Do we need someone to pick up the slack on this DP -- I think I'm the only regular what doesn't run one.... maybe it's time (and this is one of my favourite DPs tbh). Granted the 'master list' one would work with is going to be the post on p.1. And I'd be totally unfamiliar with a number of names on those teams, so the onus would be on each player to inform that a death has occurred (at least for the first month, then maybe I could get my feet planted). And I can attempt to keep the formatting the same as DRay but I ain't making a million promises. So -- if there are no objections.....
