Usually we refer as immortals to those who are very old and very very ill. People like Tiwari, Karunanidi, Le Duc Anh, Richie Overton, the Swami, bishop Quinn, George Fernandes.... Only Dilip Kumar is left from them, and maybe Anne Hamilton-Byrne. Balbir Singh has proven to be a tough fucker, and the sad thing is I think he will live many years left as a zombie, slowly decomposing while he is still alive. In a few years we will be astonished by his staying power. But among the old generation only Dilip is left.... for how long?
YoungWillz 21,028 Posted April 23, 2019 Report of the death of Terry Rawlings, British film and sound editor, nommed for an Oscar for Chariots Of Fire: Wasn't there a Watership Down Theme Team at some point, @Spade_Cooley? The citation on the Wikipedia for his age is a newspaper reference. That said, he's sure as hell old and the times run since moving to Ilford are reliable - it's just that he may be younger than claimed. That said, there's people under 30 couldn't run a marathon - so respect!

Then in the second generation Stanley Ho, Violetta Chamorro, and the king of Saudi Arabia (Salman?). I assume the DeathListees don't quite count.
Death Impends 7,957 Posted April 26, 2019 Redstone feels underrated in immortal discussions. He's been in a zombie state as long as Kumar but unlike Kumar his forum popularity kind of tapered off. I guess all the immortals that died in the past year could cause a Redstone resurgence.

The Dinosaurs: Richard Overton (1906-2018) Shivakumara Swamiji (1907-2019) Li Rui (1917-2019) Herman Wouk (1915) Born in the 1920s, first generation: Le Duc Anh (1920-2019) ND Tiwari (1925-2018) M. Karunanidhi (1924-2018) Francis Quinn (1921-2019) Dilip Kumar (1922) The perennial dementia sufferers: George Fernandes (1930-2019) Monica Vitti (1931) Joanne Woodward (1930) Jeanne Little (1938) Nobby Stiles (1942) Anne Hamilton-Byrne (1921) Sumner Redstone (1923) Stanley Ho (1921) The second generation of immortals: Violeta Chamorro (1929) Balbir Singh (1924) Abdelaziz Bouteflika (1937) And Leah Bracknell (1964). Simply undestructible.

Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted April 28, 2019 Bunch of Hollywood historian types on Twitter reporting that Ruben Rueda has died. He was a bartender at Musso and Frank's for 50 years and had served pretty much everyone in Tinseltown. Nice piece on him from a few years ago here.
