Updated for the sad loss of legendary session guitarist Bill Pitman (wiki), who died last night aged 102, according to this Facebook post from a reliable page.

Also a DDP pick.

The oldest living person to have appeared on a hit on the UK Singles Chart is now Gaston Bogaert of The Chakachas (b. 1921), followed by Ray Anthony (b. 1922).

Not sure on my obit chances here. NY times and NME but nowt good enough for DDP yet.

A little shocked by this death. Allison was in an interview 5 years ago and looked very healthy for a 78 year old. By contrast, Jerry Lee Lewis looked like crap in the same documentary and he's still with us!

Well looks like John Hartman died on December 29, 2021!!

Yet, they only thought to inform the public last week. Worrying that a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can die off radar for so long.

LeBon’s quote “It is devastating news to find out that a colleague… not a colleague — a friend, one of our family — is not gonna be around for very long” sounds quite dire sadly.

As a massive Duranie of over 40 years I'm deeply saddened by Andy's news. Prostate cancer is a weird one though, it may well get you in the end but people can often live for years without it being an issue. Hopefully this is just a minor, temporary blip for Andy and nothing more.

Simon's quote is a bit tactless, however. I hope it wasn't meant to be - it sounds like him and the rest of the band didn't know about Andy's illness, or at least that it was Stage 4 and that it was just something said in shock and surprise.

Not that long since Manny Charlton went either. Poor Zal Cleminson losing nearly all his bandmates in last few years.
