It's fascinating to read about the history of that song. Alan Merrill wrote it, and Joan Jett's cover version is almost identical, but of course became the big hit. Merrill was also the first Western superstar in Japan (early 70s). His band seemed to be something between Slade and the Bay City Rollers, but due to internal fighting never really got to the top.
