Okay, maybe a semi-yearly "surviving link to Kennedy assassination remembers his interactions with Oswald" article. Certainly a fascinating historical link, but really not enough legs for his own thread. And no, lifeis is not Life is Beautiful, just a coincidence in names.

1 pointThe Romanian press did cover his 96th birthday, but I can't find anything about him being in a "critical condition". The official press release (in Romanian) merely states that His Majesty continues to be attended by physicians (various medical specialists) as well as two orthodox nuns. In one source, his state of health was described as fragile, "as fragile as the state of health of his country, 27 years after the Romanian Revolution".

1 pointI remember the DDP once had a tagline along the lines of "death happens, why not make it interesting?" I view it in a similar matter. With really elderly celebs I tend to root for them to make the century mark unless it's an utter bastard like one of those ancient Nazis or someone with a very poor quality of life (like Zsa Zsa, who shouldn't have made 95 in the state she was in, let alone die a few months short of 100).
