I can exclusively reveal American newsrooms are currently running around like blue-arsed flies at this news, so I think we're looking at him going in the next few days rather than a brave final weeks fight against cancer.

Anyone else remember when CNN uploaded their Pope John Paul II obit prematurely by accident? Only it was based on the Queen Mum obit so referred to JPII as "the nation's favourite grandmother" and "fond of her whisky".

From what I could see, he was sort of a Lloyd Grossman who went to the US and made Lloyd Grossman type TV shows. Before he moved to the States in the 60s he was a Daily Mail journalist. Really this site is far more respectful, between the lot of us someone somewhere catches the news and reports it, and someone somewhere remembers them fondly (not counting Ian Brady types)...
