Got to feel bad for him, it's truly awful going through that at such a young age. Sadly doesn't seem like he has long left. Loads of us didn't buy the "improving" stories at the end of last year and it seems we were correct to be sceptical.

I contend that you can have a drink, and be over the legal limit for driving, without being drunk, in the accepted sense of being drunk. Therefore, to call anyone who exceeds the legal limit a 'drunk driver' is just stupid.

Justice Christopher, who played in all three of Nigeria's "Group of Death" matches at the 2002 World Cup, is dead. Apparently he was 40, but being as he first retired from football "aged" 25, I think this might be classic Nigerian accounting.

Updated Desert Island Discs 50s/60s surviving guests list for 2021–2022 passings. Not much change... just 5 in 14 months, including Robbie Brightwell. This lot don't seem to be in any rush to die and Leslie Phillips seems to be determined to survive everyone else...

Clearly I'm not with the inside knowledge group that read every single topic in the forum, maybe someone said it already on the seemingly irrelevant death thread or whatever... Facepalm me all you want, it only shows you guys as bitter, old and intolerant of outsiders. And you guys wonder why this site barely gets anyone new contributing to it...

Much like how you hyphenated drunk-writing, drink-driving should be hyphenated for it to make more sense.

Twitter Video of him on stage on tour last night. Only comes on for one song and sits down for it's entirety. Doesn't look like he can stand or walk without assistance anymore, he also can't seem to open an eye from what I've seen from Instagram stories.

Between a lot of positive words his son says that "he's still fighting" and "we're hoping that he'll recover": https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/pele-brazil-health-chemotherapy-b986404.html Sounds to me like the fight might soon be over and recovery is the less likely scenario.

Judge Daniel Walsh ascended to the judiciary in 1969, serving as a judge on the 87th Judicial District of Michigan and the 46th Judicial Circuit of Michigan. He then served as a judge on the Michigan Court of Appeals from 1975 to 1988. As State Court Administrator, he was requested by the Supreme Court in 1983 to temporarily take over the administration of the State trial courts and devise procedures to improve the Michigan court systems. His venerable reputation was such that following Justice Antonin Scalia's appointment to the Supreme Court in 1986, Judge Walsh was asked by the United States Attorney General's office to submit himself for consideration to replace Justice Scalia on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Judge Daniel Francis Walsh, 91, died on February 19, 2022 at his home in Savannah, Georgia. SC
