Spade_Cooley 9,543 Posted January 4 A mere 46 years after Matthew Garber. Has any other actor outlived their screen child by a longer stretch? 3
Commtech Sio Bibble 2,059 Posted January 4 I'll tell you what it's taking a suprisingly long time for UK news to pick up on it, apart from the Washington Post the only places reporting it are local US branches of Fox, ABC etc..

It sounds like the publicist phoned that one journalist personally and nobody else so other than that channel’s sister stations everyone else is picking it up slowly when they notice it rather than it being on a news wire. 1
The Old Crem 3,608 Posted January 4 The Sun seem to be the first British press to be report it.

I wonder if her family did formally nominate her last year (All honours are formally nominated for - either by an individual or an organisation (Famous people often in the later category.)

Not off the top of my head, but Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams only have a few years to go before surpassing that with Dominique Dunne and then a few more years after that before they do a double with Heather O'Rourke. Johns played Diane Chambers mother in an episode of Cheers so that's two cheers characters who have lost an on-screen parent in just over a month.

At least she was rightfully put on the DL just in time though. Brilliant actress though absolutely should have been a Dame.

Helen Worth from Coronation Street has survived one of the babies, Leah King, who played her on screen daughter Sarah and who died from Cot Death 36 years ago. Helen Worth could well live another decade or more to reach and surpass 46 years.
