Ulitzer95 12,636 Posted October 26, 2021 Shouldn't have laughed at this but I did. Ralph Brand on the right must surely be worth a punt soon. He's 85 in December.

In addition to this, Jansen went to see the doctor after reading the biography of fellow two times World Cup runner-up Piet Schrijvers (turns 75 in December), who has Alzheimer's since at least two years ago, because he recognized some of the symptoms from the biography. 2

For privacy reasons, not all 375 are going to reveal but with so many footballers now coming public and with the hapless Gordon Taylor now gone at the PFA, many more may now reveal their plight. I thought it would be a good idea to record those living for research purposes. I know there are much more, but I can add them on in due course as of course this can be amended. *snip* Wout Holverda 63 Sparta Rotterdam, Fortuna Sittard, HFC Haarlem *snip* Well you can take Wout Holverda off the list. Dead at 63. Seems Mr. COVID helped him along.

msc 18,476 Posted January 7, 2022 That new Venables doc is a weird one. If as reviews suggest the Venables footage is new he looks great. However I'm pretty sure its at least fifteen years old. That and the continual use of past tense to describe him by his friends. "I was fortunate to have called him a friend" says pal Roy Hodgson. Southgate also talks about how Venables used to be his mentor in his sad Gareth way. This ends with his family saying how they think he'd like to be remembered. Which is, well, yeah... Bearing in mind football and rugby have always had a drinking culture, I wonder if some, but not all, these diagnoses are all to do with heading it if they are down to alcohol. Guess if the PFA doesn't help with research, we will never know either way.
