Alas, my teams seem resilient to pandemic, old age, illness and Qualifying Obits.

Whitehouse 872 Posted April 26, 2021 Just saw the in memoriam bit from the Oskars (r). Damn, the impact from, COVID-19 was very visible NEVER saw so many people memorialized in any other year.
Ulitzer95 12,623 Posted April 26, 2021 Oscars In Memoriam 2021 segment here. They crammed a lot more names (95!) in this year, but video was pointlessly fast – blink and you'll miss one!
gcreptile 10,972 Posted April 26, 2021 Did they somewhat synchronize the speed with the Stevie Wonder song? Feels a bit cheap, to me. Chadwick Boseman as a final name was somewhat inevitable, I guess. I feel a little sad that Olivia De Havilland is just there...? Too many huge names, I guess. But then, they didn't cover 12 months but more like 16, even included Helen McCrory.
Grim Up North 3,726 Posted April 26, 2021 So fast it was almost an insult. There were a lot of big names in there across all the elements of film making though. If they had lengthened by 90 secs (or cut the overacted drivel down from beforehand) then i’d have liked a clip of OdeH, Sean, Chadwick and a burst of Ennio Morricone.
Ulitzer95 12,623 Posted April 26, 2021 The Oscars fuck the video segment up every year. One thing I’ll give them credit for... their full In Memoriam list here: https://aframe.oscars.org/news/in-memoriam Quite a lot of off radar deaths (etc. Patricia Alphin, Jim Haynie) on there, though nobody particularly notable. harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted April 26, 2021 The main winners seem to be films that aren't even out in the UK yet, whether or not you're allowed to go to the picture house to see them on the sliver screen. Maybe that's how it usually is these, I don't know? I stopped going in about 1950.
