Hagemeister's death is a surprise, the guy was quite active and seemed to be very healthy.

Since this is probably the only place I can talk about MOH and Victoria Cross recipients I can give you quite a few updates on them which I have wanted to do for a while.

For WW2 and Korea Woody Williams is as active as ever and is no way going to die any time soon, Hiroshi Miyamura seems to be doing okay, no updates on Duane Dewey and Bob Simanek for a long time now. Won't be surprised at all if Woody manages to outlive the Korean War recipients entirely.

For the Vietnam MOH recipients. Gary Wetzel has been wheelchair bound since a motorcycle accident, Gary Beikirch has pancreatic cancer, Roger Donlon has Parkinson's disease, Kenneth Stumpf is quite frail and appears to wheelchair bound as well. There have also been no updates on quite a few of them (especially Herda and Lemon). On the other hand a good majority of them are very healthy and active and are not going to die anytime soon.

For Victoria Cross recipients. Cannot find any updates on Cruickshank since his 100th birthday. Limbu and Payne are quite healthy from recent updates.

Duane Dewey dead https://www.wcjb.com/2021/10/14/sole-ncfl-medal-honor-recipient-duane-dewey-dies/.

Also Roger Donlon's Parkinson's disease and overall health has worsened to the point he cannot walk without assistance and is mostly homebound, appears very frail as well and can barely speak. He was there in an interview and his wife had to do most of the speaking.

Andrew McDonald, former chair of SCOPE, has died:

https://www.scope.org.uk/media/press-releases/andrew-mcdonald-cb/

Suffered from Parkinsons's and cancer - DDP pick, and already one of these cases where you wonder if that backlog broadsheet obit still comes in time to count.

You wonder if the QO for Andrew McDonald was pre-written, it's already Guardianworthy: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/nov/05/andrew-mcdonald-obituary

One of my favourite scenes involved Stockwell mouthing the words of Roy Orbison's In Dreams while Dennis Hopper beats Kyle McLachlan to a pulp.

I was literally looking up his Wikipedia page a day or two ago. Sad.

Double crossed baddie in Beverly Hills Cop 2.

Lotta talk about trilogies on this Forum (Star Wars, Back To The Future) but not this franchise. Yes, I know a fourth is in the works.

Look back at the cast lists from the Cop movies, lots of potential fodder coming in the next some years - they are almost star laden.

Irish banker Sean Fitzpatrick, aged 73. Was one of the key men in Irish banking with the Anglo Irish Bank for decades until his bank went to the floor in 2008 as part of the recession, which was more keenly felt in Ireland due to, well, even more incompetent bankers and politicians than most.

This led to one of the calmest newspaper headlines of the century.

Incidentally, Michael Fingleton's meant to be in poor health too.

I think there's a song about him.

Shawn Rhoden, a Mr. Olympia champion, has died. He was 46.

I've been thinking about how bodybuilders don't have their own thread.

Wondering if I should add them to the title of my catch-all Martial Arts thread (except that I wouldn't count them as martial arts practitioners) or if there should be a thread for them only.

There are currently one octogenarian and atleast three septuagenarian Mr. Olympia winners alive and there's the steroid users (Dorian Yates, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Phil Heath...)

There's also the Ms. Olympia winners (competition first organized in 1980, out of the 13 champions not one has died yet)

And of course all the other bodybuilders (Arnold Sports Festival champions, Mr. Americas, Ms. Internationals...)

Lots of deaths going to come sooner or later and a some of the younger notable ones have already died this year: Rhoden, Andy Harman, George Peterson and John Meadows.

I have had the same thought about bodybuilders. I've never started a thread, so haven't been motivated to do one. But, this is one category that has crossed my mind to do. I think a good case can be made for bodybuilders having their own thread. They aren't martial arts participants and they seem to die off at a younger median rate than the general population. Perhaps, now is the time. Let me see if I can figure this out.
