It’s debatable if she is famous enough for the DDP what with the crackdown on famous for being related to genuine famous peoplebut she feels a certain Q/O when she goes. Not a DDP pick unfortunately. Awaiting official confirmation but a lot of posts on Facebook and Twitter are saying Robert Bly died yesterday. He has a similar level of fame to Etel Adnan so curious to see if he gets a QO.

Lafaucheuse 4,051 Posted November 22, 2021 Nino Cerruti turns 92 next year, as well as Mary Quant (who could be born in 1934, there’s doubt about her born) + German princess Marianne of Wittgenstein will be 103 as will be George Boscawen, British aristocrat + British Duchess Fortune FitzRoy and British army officer Nathaniel Fiennes will both turn

He retired in 2013, later came back and retired again and is now back. He's older than his parents (father got to 78, mother to 72. He'll be 81 in january) were and is a chain smoker, has been for decades. Also seems to have a heart condition that caused his 2013 hospitalisation. I feel like he'll be on the DL in a couple of years if his health starts declining.

The General Register Office is a pretty impeccable source. She wouldn't be the first to knock a few years off her age when asked.
msc 18,477 Posted November 24, 2021 I used to have her down as born in 1934 but I think that was the case of someone on the internet making an error and everyone copying them blindly. She's very much a 1930 child. Actually no, here it is from Heather Tilbury Philips in 2020, who used to work with Quant and is still in touch with her. Quote Heather keeps in contact with Quant but admits the designer is now “quite frail”. “It’s funny but most people think she’s younger than she actually is. We celebrated her 90th birthday in February. “She chopped four years off her age when she and Alexander got together...because he was younger than her. In those days, that sort of thing mattered.” The first sentence may remain of interest to others given Quant doesn't appear in public much anymore (and indeed, cancelled some things pre-pandemic lockdown).

If the DL was US run, Lear probably would've been on it 5-6 years by now since he is A list here but from what I understand his sitcoms were largely Americanizations of UK ones and thus never really had any reason to make a splash overseas. He'd still BBC obit easily imo on account of his place in US culture but a DL spot would surprise me
