ladyfiona 2,570 Posted February 24, 2022 At this point i'm predicting Putin will get assassinated as it's the only way to get him out of power. So he's could go on the list depending how this war turns out.

There are plenty of other power hungry people in Russia, taking out Putin only creates a power vacuum within a nuclear power... The man is also getting up in age, I don't see him keeping an iron grip longer than another decade (likely less). Part of his power comes from his appearance and behavior. It is more likely he hand-picks a successor, while still making decisions behind closed doors.

At first I thought this invasion is some sort of strategic move for resources, but the more I look into it, it seems like Putin's personal mission based on rather unsound ideology. He has lately been even more isolated than normally due to covid precautions. If he has actually gone a bit mad, there should come a time when the oligarchs who gave him the power, will take it away - and this might be violent. So in conclusion, if he is taken out, it will be by one of those power hungry people. IMO history has shown that they are not particularly worried about power vacuums. Anyway, it's still a long time until deathlist 2023 and things will develop a lot. I feel that if this invasion ends up being a failure he might not even see 2023. Listening through now, also getting namechecked and still alive: Pele Sepp Maier Hayley Mills Daniel Boone (not sure if this is the long-dead frontiersman or the still-living one-hit wonder) Kelvin MacKenzie The aforementioned Nicholas Witchell Francis Lee (the ginger footballer not the gay film director) Julie Andrews Bradley Dredge Not too much in the way of obscure names, with the exception of journeyman golfer Dredge. Being a Leeds fan I was pleased with the namecheck of Norman Hunter. Have we got a specific dedicated thread for The Curse of Half Man Half Biscuit? We probably should.
