And so, our friendship must end.

This is a very tactical game but I have always considered Jimi Hendrix to be over-rated

Hmm, I don’t think he’s the greatest guitarist ever as some say, but man alive some of his stuff was fucking class. Voodoo Chile’s riff is *chefs kiss* and it’s not even his best IMO

Tactically, it already looks like this is gonna be an interesting game…my main tactic for now, however, is getting Norman in the bin

My  brother in law is in a covers band and that is one of their staples (Spirit in the Sky not Voodoo Chile)

The late 70s will be very hard for me to kill/reduce...

Please add + 1 to Diana Ross' 20 points, Thanks!

"Band of Gold" is the best song on there, but I feel like the Generation Z's rediscovery of "Love Grows" could see it over the finish line.

I think there are three obvious contenders for the four top spots in this round.

My eyebrows will disappear into my heavily receded hairline if they aren't. But I'm not going to influence the voting.

Some years the best songs didn't get to the top spot, mind.

Also without wishing to influence anyone's voting, jeez, some of you have lousy taste* in music (not necessarily you YW).

A few years ago (during lockdown), I did a spotify playlist for each year of my life and, while not exhaustive, had a few tunes I consider better than some of the number ones (I had Paranoid, Groovin' With Mr Bloe, All Kinds of Everything for example, for 1970) but we can all be thankful that that bloody Neil Diamond song didn't get there.

*taste that doesn't correspond with mine.

It had to be done.

(Still fucked off tbh. All of those yewtree sods generate a sense of disdain and dislike, only one felt like a personal betrayal. Rolf can fuck off.)

I am not the Generation Z, but I like "Love grows". It's a catchy pop tune.

I am late-millennial, early-Z. Love Grows is a bit middle-of-the-roady for me. I shall, however, fight Slade’s corner to the bitter end, appalling spelling and mutton chops notwithstanding :D

Much luck! I really hate Slade! The next round only feels like Slade songs, plus Wizzard and Gary Glitter! I don't even know who to slaughter here first and last!

Oh, that's the nice thing about Kill or Save - these little wars, discussions, feelings, exchange about music...

Is the the religious sentiment, the spectre of future covers or just one of those tuned that grates?
