It had to be done.

(Still fucked off tbh. All of those yewtree sods generate a sense of disdain and dislike, only one felt like a personal betrayal. Rolf can fuck off.)

I spent a Christmas record token on the single of Two Little Boys when I was about 5.

Mildly, moderately and MASSIVELY respectively.

0 Rolf Harris - Two little boys -5

In purely musical terms, whilst Rolf's song is pretty awful, surely Granddad is even worse?

All those sickly sweet kids sitting around him him singing their sickly sweet lyrics in a sickly sweet way?

If we're going to take off-field considerations into account, then surely the thought of Sally Carr's hot-panted rear ca 1971 should be enough to have MOTR rocketing up the charts...

I am late-millennial, early-Z. Love Grows is a bit middle-of-the-roady for me. I shall, however, fight Slade’s corner to the bitter end, appalling spelling and mutton chops notwithstanding :D

As an apparent millennial too, I agree on Love Grows and also love Slade.

Can't agree with the Spirit in the Sky hate though, it's a hilariously daft song imo.

I don't actually mind Grandad or Ernie. Both are simple novelty tracks, inoffensive fluff.

The Mungo Jerry dislike really surprises me though.

Anyhow this round is quite light next to the horrors of 1972-73 - who was the bigger stain on the charts - Gary Glitter, or the fucking Osmonds?

@YoungWillz I'd guess via PM your top 4 picks but last I checked your PM box was full!

This game is providing a most welcome distraction from the two pressing issues of the forum

1. A lack of Deaths of note

2. The absolute shit-show of UK Politics

Had to kill that awful earworm chirpy shite so biblio can't keep resurrecting it.

Nothing there really grabs me to vote for, far prefer all along the watchtower from hendrix for a start - so I'll just save woodstock from gracing the relegation zone for a bit.

(Fiona's extra's still to go on, but time and games like this wait for no man, or woman)

@ladyfiona gets a chance to catch up on her points. However, this should be and remain the exception: Incorrect voting should be named and skipped. However, the user has the opportunity to submit a new and correct vote.

The rules are not difficult: + 4 and - 6 points can be awarded once a day. Of course, the constantly changing order of the songs makes the game a bit confusing, but that's the way it works and all players need to concentrate a bit.

It also makes a difference whether you're playing on PC or mobile: copy, paste, delete, mark, change... it's certainly more difficult on mobile.

Thanks to all users who point out minor errors or bring order to the order!

Otherwise, it's nice when this game is used for fun or distraction. Your comments are great and I hope we can get through the whole 70's together!!! :)

Well, so far we’ve binned:

Rolf Harris - Two Little Boys
Middle of the Road - Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep

England World Cup Squad - Back Home

Clive Dunn - Grandad

And Norman Greenbaum and Mungo Jerry are dangling by a thread. So despite some questionable (imo) scoring at times, I’d say the chaff is getting separated pretty effectively so far.

I know the four I’d like in the grand final. Three of them are doing okay so far.
