The man is literally just skin and bones. You can tell by the way he walks. He could also be suffering from heart issues given his gastric bypass was 20 years ago and he does have diabetes.

Definitely getting Chadwick Boseman vibes from this.He looks ravaged.His legs are like sticks you can see his chestbone through his shirt and you can see the back of his skull clearly.  Even one of the women who called out said "awww that's sad".

Looks more like bone metastases or his bones are buckling due to having precious little weight to work with.

He was a musician and producer.  Is every musician/producer going to get a thread?  Few knew of him prior to being selected for the show.  So to most that would appear to be a Yes to your question.

Reminds me of the story about Oliver Hardy losing shit loads of weight and claiming the credit when it was cancer.

 

In Randy's case he clearly lost weight from some weird diets and other techniques including bizarre rituals like drinking pregnant women's urine plus gastric bypass surgery but now he clearly is just wasting away due to illness.

No real update since this year started, but it seems like he looks so much different since he had his weight loss surgery a few years ago. I saw the interview with Hudson a while back and his voice was very raspy which hasn't been the case for most of his life. He's still the musician on the revival of Name That Tune, and many people didn't even recognize him when they watched. I always liked him as a judge on American Idol and wish him the best of luck with his health.
