I've learnt to stop mentioning which band or artist you love otherwise people with downvote them even quicker (see Take That early 90's as example). Based on your voting though I will still continue to downvote Pet Shop Boys. I saw them live as opening act for said Take That like 10 years ago and they are terrible live (or at least in a stadium venue).

 

My aim is to be tactical every now and then so I have a mental list of who I like and downvote people who I think may get ahead of said artist near the end. I don't always do it this way depending on the list. I also downvote a lot of dance/electric music because I really don't like it.
