Seriously mate, don’t force me to put you on a mod preview.  Your posts WON’T get approved.  Calm the fuck down.

Are you sure you couldn't be tempted to put him and mango on it? I'm sure we could have a whip round if you're open to bribes.

Just dared to look at the news. Guess it was a free and fair election then. Amazing given all the illegals voting and the ballot stuffing in the swing states...

We were bang on the money about this election.

you're assuming that they will still be holding elections and permitted to have opposition parties in 2028. Based on Trump's speeches and his rhetoric to the voters that may not be the case. After all he was telling his voters that after this election they won't have to vote again and was talking about going after and locking up all of his opponents. Given his past history of following through this might not happen but the sycophants he's surrounded himself with this time around might be competent enough to get it done.

Republicans should really invest a lot of money into Illinois, New York and New Jersey, considering how close the election was there. It would open up many more pathways to victory than they had before. Another interesting aspect of this election is that in the age of social media outrage, the incumbency advantage may have turned into an incumbency disadvantage. Wouldn't be surprised if there is a huge blue wave in four years.

One thing that might help a blue wave in future is complete confusion over what might constitue Republicanism in a post-Trump Republican Party. Arguably he's shredded their beliefs beyond immediate repair. If his health fails it may be that his vision is his own family taking over and continuing with more of the same. Not something that played out for Mao, Stalin, or the most of those guys.

It be a big test of if they can keep that up without Trump or someone as unique as him. I am not sure JD Vance has the same level of appeal.

She gave a nice speech..  Tells me she can give good speeches.. She maybe was trying too hard and getting herself in trouble and the word salads came out.

A very positive speech. Just a guess, it was over half of what she'd have said had she won.

It will. The worry is the damage that will be done in between. Ukraine, the Middle East, the environment, and that's before we consider the fact that the band of nutjobs he's assembled know what they're doing this time and how to game the system. They also have a compliant House and Senate and a conservative Supreme Court so they can run the table. And doubtless they'll somehow explain in 4 years time how the radical left have somehow stopped them doing everything they wanted and they must be re-elected for the sake of the nation, which will surely crumble otherwise. What an ungodly mess, and somehow this is still in some ways a better outcome than the armed gangs marauding the streets and Trump screaming foul on Fox News because Kamala won.

What I find depressing is that realpolitik demands that for the next four years, every other US-allied world leader has no other option but to slavishly appease this unstable childish lunatic and his every wish or he can use America's whole economic clout to tank their economies with a single finger. Like an outsourced Liz Truss but even worse, because at least we COULD get rid of her before she did even more damage to our economy. And the checks and balances which restrained him to a degree in his first term no longer apply now, since his party controls every branch of the most powerful government on Earth. I just wish Americans voted while paying more attention to the global consequences of their choice, because it's not only them who have to put up with him.

For someone with poor UK approval ratings the British right wing press might be out of touch with public opinion being so massively pro trump now a days.
