James Sikking dead at 90.

Every time I see you or @Thatcher have posted I hold my breath. Luckily, I have no feelings about this particular individual.

I left him off my DC theme team by accident this year, so he's a LotM. So, even if you've never heard of him, I would appreciate it if you broke down in tears sobbing over my rotten luck.

It's quite normal actually. I would define only dr. Ruth, Duvall and Doherty as big names.

BTW, Alf's actor died almost a month ago.

Engle

Duvall

Westheimer

Simmons

Doherty

A solid b-list run for the last few days. Alas, no one worthy of real excitement. Despite this run, a lousy year.

The last time we had this kind of run may have been all the way back in 2009. Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays (Orange Glo pitchman), Gale Storm and Fred Travalena all died between June 23 and 28th of that year. Same vibe of hearing one name after another.

Not really, there have been bigger death clusters I can recall. December 2016. Richard Adams, Liz Smith, Carrie Fisher, George Michael, Debbie Reynolds, William Christopher in the span of a week.

2016 itself was a huge death cluster year.

Seven of the Hill Street Blues main cast gone now, and half a dozen more in their 80s and late 70s. The youngest member is Megan Gallagher (b.1960), she could be the last survivor in a decade or so.

Not familiar with a great deal of his work, but he was great as the cartoon villain Starfleet stiff in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, trying to stop Kirk taking the Enterprise.

"If you do this Kirk, you'll never sit in the captain's seat again..."

That's a shame. He was great in HSB and he's in one of my favourite M*A*S*H episodes.

Does anyone know whether Larry Manetti was born in 1947 or 1943?

Most sources say 1947, and Larry himself remarked he must have been six or seven when he did an audition for The Harder They Fall (1955). However, according to the California, Marriage Index, 1960-1985, Larry was 36 years old when he married in February 1980.

Had a stroke circa 2016 and is wheelchair bound, a good one to consider going forwards.

Also a Disney Legend. I thought of making a list of living Disney Legends a while ago, but I'll do it now for the ones who recieved the award before 2010:

2005: 14/18 dead.

Mary Anne Mang (1933-2023) Awarded for Parks & Resorts.

Steve Martin (1945-) Awarded for Parks & Resorts.

Tom Nabbe (1943-) Awarded for Parks & Resorts.

William Sullivan (ca. 1936-) Awarded for Parks & Resorts

Lots of old, frail ones there.

Can confirm. It's made the rounds on my LinkedIn where I'm connected with people who are sharing their memories of working with him.

Sad news. A pioneering actress and one of the Hong Kong greats. 'Come Drink With Me' is a magnificent film. RIP.

Also Richard Roundtree's last film. It's getting good reviews.

Just come back from this, lovely little film, solid 8/10. Bunny Levine, who is also in the movie, really looks her age though (95). She's got that sort of old person look where you can no longer tell what race they are, they're just "old".
