maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted July 22, 2014 Sorry but Moscow,Russia is still prefer to Donetsk, Ukraine or Deir al-Balah, Palestine... it's not actually a war zone. Furthermore we don't yet know whether Russia is actually behind this attack. Yeah, but we can usefully assume that some of the worst details are being held back until the repatriation of bodies. I expect before too long there'll be some fairly honest accounts from journos detailing the stench, exactly how much looting they saw, and the other bits and pieces that make this a real horror show. On top of that I'd imagine the full extent of satellite monitoring and a few other intelligence nuggets will be unleashed making it more obvious than it already is that Russian forces were involved in helping the rebels loyal to them. We haven't had a day since Thursday without some new revelation of horror, the stories today of the tampering with the wreckage would be stunning in the context of most air crashes. They're tame compared to what's gone before with this one.
Magere Hein 1,400 Posted July 23, 2014 Thank you for your words of condolence. Today the bodies of the Dutch victims are flown back to the Netherlands, for which occasion the government has declared today a day of national mourning, the first since Queen Wilhelmina's death in 1962. The most visible aspect of a day of national mourning is that most government offices fly a flag at half-mast. regards, Hein

charon 4,943 Posted July 24, 2014 That stupid wee prick Haris Suleman has died aged 17, trying to fly around the World in 30 days to promote 'education'. I hope all wee cunts are inspired by you Haris, and don't attempt publicity seeking stunts when they are not even the age to buy a pack of ciggies. Now that is 'education'. ps, his dad died as well, hope that is the lineage gone.

Guest walter wall Posted July 26, 2014 It has to be condolences to any nation who had citizens on that plane, but particularly to the Dutch, and anyone who doesn't realise that the hand of that fuckwit Putin is there is in denial. What I found almost frightening was the way that the pro-Russian, gun toting militia were bullying the inspectors sent to investigate the crash scene, and there is no doubt that any proper investigation of this tragedy is going to be futile, as apparently, the black box is already back in Mother Russia together with other vital parts, Frightening that in just 4 years, Russia is hosting the next World Cup. I see nothing but problems ahead. I don't think the world will survive till 2018. I predict that Putin and Obama will start world war 3 by 2016 thus ending human civilisation

Death Impends 7,964 Posted August 30, 2014 Had Werner Franz on my DDP team last year as a "random old person that could be unique" pick; relegated him to some forum-based pools this time around. Yahoo UK obit for the teams that went with him this year.
Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted September 7, 2014 Last survivor of the Hindenburg explosion dead at 92: http://www.spiegel.d...n-a-988852.html (german link) I didn't even know there were survivors... you and me both!! Around two-thirds (62) of the occupants survived the crash, principally because when hydrogen ignites, it burns upwards and doesn't fall to the ground and incinerate everyone. Whilst hydrogen wasn't used to power the Hindenburg, there are pros and cons in using hydrogen as a fuel in airliners and some experts say it would be safer than using kerosene in the event of a crash, as kerosene falls to the ground. To this day, people still don't like the idea of hydrogen powered aircraft because of the Hindenburg incident, despite the fact that so many survived. Cat O'Falk 3,290 Posted February 4, 2015 If the fuselage is blocking the stabilizer, why isn't the tip of the tail visible and why is it square-ended given that she's on an almost knife-edge? I thought the number one prop was feathered at the time of posting but wasn't sure; later news reports seem to confirm this.
Phantom 2,533 Posted February 4, 2015 I looks like it's lost part of the tail piece. Was that on the take-off that it lost that part of the tail or did it clip a building on the climb out?
