Guest Justin Posted November 3, 2009 Bloomberg wire is reporting: By David Henry Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Claude Levi-Strauss, the French social anthropologist who influenced generations of intellectuals with his ideas on culture and said the human species would become extinct, has died. He was 100.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted November 3, 2009 Died Claude Levi Strauss Or if you prefer it in French Somebody better go find that girl, the one they called IE+. I feel the honour of writing his dreaded headline should go to her. After the affair he put that in his will, so the rumour goes.

Windsor 2,233 Posted November 3, 2009 Claude Levi-strauss is the 12th success of 2009. He is the 186th success since 1987. The 2009 list is now in 4th place shared with 2004 and 2005. Still time for al-Megrahi to pop his clogs
Guest Christian Posted November 3, 2009 A sad day! Claude Lévi-Strauss was the greatest anthropologist and an inspiration for me and a lot of others around the world. What does he see now with a view from afar...?
Rotten Ali 600 Posted November 4, 2009 A sad day! Claude Lévi-Strauss was the greatest anthropologist and an inspiration for me and a lot of others around the world. What does he see now with a view from afar...? Yep, I concure. A sad day! Claude Lévi-Strauss was the greatest anthropologist I removed totally from my 2008 list of 50 names, only to religate him into my 2009 "68 name" list. Doh. Guest Guest Posted November 7, 2009 His deathdate should be corrected, it's actually October 30th not November 3rd. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091104/ap_on_...ce_levi_strauss http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/04/world/eu...strauss.html?em
Guest Christian Posted November 28, 2009 Today we celebrate the birthday of Claude Lévi-Strauss for the first time, when he's not around. Quite a funny feeling. A sad feeling. And he won't be here at deathlist.net anymore either in the future. I will surely miss coming to this website every year at November 28 to celebrate this great anthropologist. This had become almost a ritual for me, but now an era has ended, though I will remember him in great many other ways than at this website. Thanks for some exciting debates throughout the years and good luck with your scores next year!
Tomb raider 9 Posted December 7, 2009 What about the 'details-to-follow' on the frontpage? Are we waiting for CLS to come back? That should have happened within three days, me thinks, so I doubt it will ever occur...
