Tiny Tim on this day in 1996. I'm not going to post a picture as I don't want to frighten anyone

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiny_Tim_(musician)

How strange, I googled this fella last week and read about him.

My first memories of him was an appearance on The Golden Showe.........Shot,sometime in the very early 70s.

Presumably that's why you didn't post audio either.

Quite. I will post this though because it makes me laugh

Lord Chancellor to King Henry VIII, Cardinal Thomas Wolsey died on this day in 1530 aged 57.

He's buried a couple of miles up the road from me although his grave is symbolic as the exact position within Abbey Park is unknown.

Following the University of Leicester's finding of the grave of King Richard III, there have been calls to go looking for Tommy.

This brings back memories of playing around the ruins when taken to Abbey Park as a child.

My first part-time job was at the RHM bakery which is just over the road from the enterence to Abbey Park closest to Pets Corner.

It's not there any more, they pulled it down and built a B&Q; then that burned down and they rebuilt it.

I worked at the bakery too, from about 1987 to 1990.

Wasn't that fire a little bit suspicious.

The old entry way was listed I think.

A nine year old lad set fire to some thinners in the paint section. When they rebuilt it they included a sprinkler system, unlike the first one.

Roger C. Carmel died on this day in 1986 aged 54.

He is probably best known for playing Harcourt Fenton (Harry) Mudd in Star Trek.

Almost fours years earlier, Kay Elliot who played Harry's nagging wife Stella, died on this day in 1982 aged 53.

One year ago today. Ian McLagan, keyboard player with the Small Faces, and The Faces died at the age of 69.

He had just released an album a couple of months before, and was due to open for Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets as part of the Quality Holiday Revue the day he passed away.

20 years since the death aged 85 of Jimmy Jewel. Here's a classic clip with Hilda Baker et al (it really was a different world).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKyDUhPoSJE

They hated each other in real life.

Madge Hindle is the only one alive out of that lot. Anyone any health news on her?

I can't seem to copy and paste on here anymore but Hylda Baker's imdb makes reference to it and I've read it in other places too. That's why there were lots of scenes with Hylda and Jimmy talking to each other through letter boxes and stuff.
