He had just released an album a couple of months before, and was due to open for Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets as part of the Quality Holiday Revue the day he passed away. I can't seem to copy and paste on here anymore but Hylda Baker's imdb makes reference to it and I've read it in other places too.
