Five minutes ago access was denied again and said you are blocked   Then I fiddled with my mobile phone and it was OK again,  perhaps temporarily.  I am absolutely baffled.  I thought IF I was banned  I'd be told why.  Mightily confused.

Maybe although  I've only had the one account since 2014. So I haven't been banned before.  Surreal to think someone in my neighbourhood is also on the forum!! I've knocked my phone WiFi off temporarily and have now been able to post  but haven't tried  the household computer  yet.  

I think I might need to exchange email addresses with one or two of the small number of posters on here so I can contact them to contact admin if this becomes an ongoing issue.

If someone in close geographical  proximity to me or similar  IP  is blocked is there anyway around stopping this becoming an habitual problem?

The only possible other explanation I can think of is on the computer another household member has put safety settings on so now rude pictures are automatically blurred until you click allow. This was done only days ago  Would safety settings block accidentally this forum because of its sensitive nature? I hasten to add that there are no safety blocking on my mobile and the you are banned kept on coming up on mobile too .Perhaps  I'm clutching at straws

Also I was in a city centre pub 9 miles at least  from home and it still said blocked. briefly unblocked on train journey home but then blocked again. So far the only way to access website is to switch off WiFi but that might just be luck.

If it was IP caused wouldn't  being 9 miles away from home override that? Sorry I'm a luddite and  genuinely stumped/puzzled.

I am typing this on my WiFi turned off mobile.  I am sat in front of a PC and when  I trued to access website on PC it says Banned you  do not have permission to view this site. Yet on my mobiles   admittedly  minus WiFi, it allows access.  Would that confirm your IP near or former is banned or contradict it?  I'm using the same computer in same house I've used for at least 7 or 8 years without  issue?

I removed the ban on the IP that I think was the root of your issue. It was one where an asterisk was used after the first five digits so that would've banned a wide range of IPs. Try again.

Oh my God you are a bloody angel!! Just tried my pc and mobile with wifi on and I can access everything 1000% fine! Thank you SO MUCH I could kiss you!!!  

I know you rightly cannot give me details but it sounds like there must be an ex deathlister in my neighbourhood for that to happen(unless it's based on number/codes rather than location?) But regardless  thanks again  I'm really grateful virtual kiss kiss kiss kiss and friendly virtual hug!

 

Oh typed my reply only after reading first line as was eager to act  so I see it was code related rather than location.

This has happened to me a few times. Sometimes it clears if I switch from WiFi to data.

I'm not suggesting anyone's anonymity should be waived. It's not a breach of anonymity if somebody who already knows his identity checks on the GRO index (it's fairly easy to explain how to do this if they don't know) and gives a yes/no. It's entirely possible nobody knows his identity, but I'd wager that somebody does and I think it's much better to simply put this discussion to bed than it is to idly speculate.

Almost certainly something to do with your whereabouts.  A while ago when I looked up deathlist at my place of work, I found I was banned.  Still no idea why, so it’s not a members thing.  There’s always the possibility you were at a location that was previously banned.

Thankfully the brilliant @Death Impends seems to have  found the root cause and resolved the issue. 

Before Iwas able to get  back on forum and post I was beginning to fear I was locked out permanently with no way to contact or appeal/plead my case. I was even starting to wonder if I'd accident posted a picture of a hunky man in Speedos or something on the wrong Internet page whilst daydreaming and had encountered the full wrath of the moderators!

Some of these bans are odd. I found I was banned when I went beyond 45 degrees South earlier in the year.

(Always handy to have an admin from US who can look at it in their evening/afternoon)  Well done again DI.

All my friends are really involved in my deadpooling activity, is that your case too ? Anyway, they’re sometimes breaking the News of someone’s passing before I even know it. I let them know that from now on, the one who breaks the news the most during the year (before I know it ofc) will get a chance to put one celeb he/She wants into my list. Would be fun, we’ll see. We’re currently in a tie between 3 people

My wife is the only person I've told about my interest in deadpooling, since she herself is interested in predicting deaths albeit of the fictional character kind (her most recent hit? Gambit of the new X-Men miniseries). I do have a network and maybe some of my friends might have an idea but I can't say.

I saw it but it wasn't anything like the National Geographic-looking pictures my friends sent me from 5 minutes away.

 

The best part of this picture is the stars (I don't know anything about stars/planets, sorry, I just like looking at them)
