No way of being absolutely certain either way, but who takes their time to impersonate an obscure actor's son for the sake of changing their date of birth misleadingly? I believe it was his son. We've visited this several times now so I don't want to get bogged down on it again but a search on Scotland's People for a birth within Clackmannan in either 1925 or 1930 turns up nada. Hopefully an obit will clarify how old he actually was.
